Oh and you should see what the coyotes do to deer remains...there's nothing left except a wet spot on the ground. No skidsteers needed lol.
We have several bobcats on our property that we catch on our game cams every month or two.... along with coyotes, foxes, etc. I haven't seen a bear here yet, but about 20 miles north of me, there are bears in the woods too! Oh, and alligators :)
They tried that here during one ludicrous George Floyd protest. All the armed people in my rural town met them in the first interesection and told them GTFO, NOT HAPPENING HERE, TURN AROUND AND GO BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM
I laughed when I read it because it's all true. In fact I gave a couple kids my old 29 inch TV to blow up when finally got a flat screen. They're hardworking and have hung out in the parking lot of my work with their pistols when some fishy characters were there at the same time.
I don't have a gun myself but I'm far from defenseless I have a hammer that can crack skulls wide a couple good heavy cast iron pans a sword and I'm going to pick up a couple bats just for funnsies

Population 600ish... My son had shot his first 22 by 8. Now he is getting a .45 for his 18th B-Day. In our house we have 2 black powder .50 cal riffels, a 30/30, a 306, a .357, several .22s, two bows, and a set of throwing hatchets. We have the least amount of arms of all of our friends...

Bears are rare in my neck of the woods but they are around, no wolves yet, they tend to hang out in Canada and Minnesota.
We do have fox, and bobcats. I have heard coyotes at night outside of town someone said they've been in town.
