It's a training manual.
In all fairness, looks like she's on a bus. In Dade County, you couldn't ride until very recently, if you didn't wear a mask.
Was going to say the same thing. She's on public transportation. She might actually not even be reading that book. Maybe she's using it as a statement about still wearing masks on a bus. Could be a new movement. Just print up the cover and wrap it around whatever book you are reading on public transportation and anywhere else they require muzzles.
That's an odd sized paper most people don't have to cover the book.
So nice to hear just 'Dade' county again....
I've refused to call it by the new name ever since they changed it. So retarded.
Yes, Dade is still in the name, but it's now Miami-Dade County. Because MIAMI is in dade county. They're just making sure you know that Miami is right there in Dade County. They don't want you to forget that either, Miami's in Dade.
Omgoodness! I hadn't heard this...how ridiculous!
how the heck can you tell where in the country it is based on that pic??
You see that yellow hand hold? That's Dade County Yellow, my friend.
What no other county in any other state in the country has those?? (I'm British and baffled because if you showed me a UK bus interior I wouldnt be able to say which town its from just by the handles lol) Is this a new level of autism or something??
My husband gave his uber left sister a copy of Atlas Shrugged to read during the Obama years. You couldn't tell her anything but she loved to read. He thought maybe this was the ticket to enlighten her.
She read it and said I like Ayn Rand. He asked her if anything sounded familiar. She said no. He said you are living it. She said don't be silly.
A powerful book. Can't believe she didn't see the correlations!
I like this.
Answer, Page 81:
Unfortunately, probably never.
"People on the right are just like the Ingsoc party!" -her, probably
the thing about 1984 is that Winston stands down, and the end of the book is his happy acquiescence. pretty demoralizing
It's a warning. In the age of Disney-princesses-live-happily-ever-after, a story with a tragic end gets people's attention.
Unless they've already got their head in the sand, that is...
I’d like to get my old copy out and reread it. But I’d be pissed off the whole time checking off the bullet points that have been enacted.
If she's just wearing to placate, she would slip the mask under her nose.
I think, if she finishes it, it she'll still be oblivious to its import to her beliefs and actions.
Maybe if she sees herself in this meme, the lightbulb will go on. Spread it far and wide so she sees it.
Implying they have self-awareness. In many indoctrinated classes I had to take, we would read about how the natives were slaughtered every time they had their guns taken away, but we were not allowed to have that discussion.
-Finishes the book- "WOW! What great science fiction this is!"
Never
She's probably reading it ironically
That looks like west coast buses specifically oregon buses. I’m not suprised. She probably is too scared to take off the mask but doesn’t mind sending a message to others.
She won’t. There’s no ring on her finger and no man sitting with her.
Meh. I don't wear a wedding ring and ride public transportation without my husband. I like to think she's making a statement. Could be wrong.
I’m circling back, lol.
This was an obscure reference to Rush Limbaugh’s theory that women are prone to being liberal until they marry a man who will then go on to educate them in the errors of their way. I do believe it’s more complicated than that and owe our misunderstandings to corrupt media and educational systems.
This comment was just a trigger. Sometimes I say things to illicit emotional responses. People have to learn to control their emotions or risk a downward spiral. Sink or swim.
With all that being said, you’re response was PERFECT! The hours in the day are long, but the years are fleeting. You’ll go far in Life.
