Brainwashed parents WTF. I am 66 and am one of those so called brain washed parents. I did not take the jab I refused even though we were persecuted for it here in Canada. Both my sons took the jab as did my brother and sister. My husband which is another of your so called brainwashed parents. He did not take the jab but his kids all did as did his one brother and his 6 sisters and their children. I am so sick of people calling us brainwashed. I was awake longer than most of you have lived.

The flipside argument is that there was no internet social media to promote fear and there was more critical thinking happening due to the silent generation and the WWII generation.
People back then trusted television, radio and newspaper media far more. But it was still limited in reach compared today's mass media. There was no mass lock down due to the swine flu epidemic as an example.
Plus, back then people were in more social clubs and discussed person to person and families were larger. And there were more nuclear families and less single households.
Correct. They did try to do somethin like this in 2003 with SARS and we laughed at them. But there was still some independence in the media, no social media and they didn't pull out all the stops like they did with COVID. I still had a Nextel phone (pre Crackberry), lol. I think SARS was a test run to figure out what they needed to get in place for COVID.
You could also argue that we didn't take the jab bc we DO have the internet and are capable of doing our own research and that's why we don't listen to the TV, radio, etc.

Not me. Didn't vax my 5 kids born in the 80's and personally never took any vaccines except 50's childhood vaccines. I have known for a VERY long time the medical establishment was not to be trusted. And yet I really met some terrific doctors along the way. Back then you read books, attended conferences or joined groups (LaLecheLeague ie.). We are in a medical nightmare when the "healers" we put our trust in are trying to kill us.

We bought patent properties (look it up), old mines, homesteaded what we had, and kept at least a half year of stocked items.
Besides, it wasn't you younger people that invented the electronics you use. It was us. And I'll wager this ancient dude has better understanding of the current than most of you, and much better survival skills than most youngsters ever will.

Those that bother me are those who consistently lay the blame for their own shortcomings upon their parents or previous generations.
All knowledge comes as a matter of choice. It is personal responsibility; all the can be laid upon the previous is the general training of the mind. In my case, that did not occur: I did that myself, with the aid of the local library. The reason? Because when I asked questions about the current war in Korea, the answer was, "When you get older, you will understand." My response was essentially, fuck that, I want answers now.
I don't like it when parents crush a child's natural curiosity just because they don't know or don't want to bother to tell them. But, I really dislike this current trend of entitled and narcissistic rug-rats who seem to think they're the end all and no one else knows anything.
I tried very hard to explain reasons why we did things or how things are set up to my kids. Granted, I'm far from perfect and we had moments when I just didn't take the time. But, my kids all were taught how to learn. If they need info, they go find it.
I was born in the 70's. My dad didn't trust the gov't or doctors then, so my sister and I didn't get shots. He was the rebel black sheep of the family. I had all homebirths and no shots for my children either. My dad died right before all this covid sh*t, so he didn't get his "I told you so moment." His parents and all siblings died before him, but for sure they all would have gotten the clot shots. I'm glad I didn't have to watch that. I've lost enough friends over this.
My doctor back then did house calls and used herbal teas not pharma. Strongest thing he gave was paragoric. Few drops in warm water with sugar for a stomach ache. It was opium based. Same dude delivered me in 1962.
