How do you explain the millions under 40 who still have their heads up their asses? And they love to interweb? Being blind to truth doesn't require the media. It comes down to the individuals character and honesty. Many don't have either regardless of age.
This isn't about age. It's about hunger for truth.
Very few old people that I know aren't on the internet every day. They're on FB, Pinterest, YouTube, etc., and they know most of what we know about what's really going on in the world.
People who woke up decades before you probably thought you'd never wake up. But you did. So will millions of people like the original poster's friend. It takes a lot for people to question their foundational beliefs, but once when they start to do so, they are open to all kinds of evidence they previously rejected as "impossible" without even considering it.
They don't want it because on some unconscious level, they know the answer. It is the scene in A Few Good Men where Jack Nicholson says you can't handle the truth. Cliché , but accurate.
I think streaming and binge watching killed off some of that conversation as well, it used to be you got one episode a week and everyone was on the same page unless they missed it now some people have just started watching while others already finished the season. At least that's why I think I never see those conversations anymore.
You can't keep up with it. There is too much. They are killing their own industry.
I read a blurb last night the the Emmy Awards had it's lowest rating ever - I think it was around 1% in the coveted 18-49 category and less than 6 million viewers over all. When I first saw that, I actually blanked for a bit before realizing "oh yeah, it is Emmy season." While that shows that TV is dying, it also shows that streaming isn't going to save it.
When still working in the office people would make a joke that I wouldn't get the reference on, and it wouldn't be "didn't you see that episode of ___" half the time - it would be "haven't you seen that commercial?".
I'd just say "of course not, how would I have seen that???"
Exactly! The information is out there but some people are too lazy to dig in and do their research. They would rather be spoon fed by the nightly “news”. And by digging in and doing their research it means more than looking at the first page of the google results.
Yeah many of us don't have the patience to handhold and coddle these people any longer. At some point others are just going to learn to stand on their own two feet or be left behind. It doesn't seem like we have the luxury of time to deprogram everyone step by step.
Yeah fuck the boomers they messed everything up in the first place. They were handed a treasure and they flushed it down the drain or let it all be stolen away one piece at a time. The boomers were hypnotized by TV and car culture early on and threw out everythjng good. This guy doesn’t want to admit anything because it would mean admitting he was complicit
This stuff is seriously getting old. Fuck the boomers. Millennials are the worst generation. Look - Gen-Z might have conservative kids. It's all just division and crap. Q didn't say 3 or 4% of Boomers will be lost forever - they didn't specify a group.
There are people like this in every age group, and everyone from one group didn't ruin stuff for everyone from another. Did you ever think that maybe the group itself didn't actually think up and do the things you accuse them of doing on their own? Or is it possible the deep state/cabal or whatever you want to call them has been planning this for as long as the Q team has been planning against it? Good vs Evil - right?
Think about the social pressure for women to vote, then to work outside the home, to leave kids in daycare so each house has 2 incomes. Think about the pressure to divorce, to pop out a dozen kids to get a bigger gimmedat check.
Boomers and Gen-X didn't have drag queen story hours, trannines running around trying to redefine normal, or even massive crime and drug problems (fentanyl - not weed) like today.
Each generation has their issues and to me it looks like a bunch of those issues were caused by the government/DS. Did boomers mess up? Sure - some of them. Same with the other generations.
BTW - I'm not a boomer - I'm Gen-X. You know - the latch-key kids that played outside from morning to dinner, that used the gas station paper-towel things that were just an endless loop of cloth that everyone else used, and were probably the last generation of kids that were able to enjoy slingshots, lawn darts, bb guns, and croquet (we would beat our brothers and sisters with the mallets). There are probably a ton of normies that watch Fox still in Gen-X, but not everyone. I work in high tech and have worked for some very recognizable companies doing cyber security and pen-testing. I still program. I've run Linux since 1992. My kids ask me about computer issues - not the other way around. I have no Fakebook or Twitter. I have Tivo Stream 4ks on my TVs (not firesticks - why reward Amazon) or Roku (they are slow and can't be customized nearly as much as the Tivos or Android TVs in general). I'm not the typical Gen-Xer but my friends and coworkers in my age group are almost exactly the same.
Also - for the OP: You might not ever change this guy, but he will come around when he sees things happening on his own. He is one we don't have to worry about. He will vote for Trump either way, whether Desantis doesn't run or if he does and Trump still gets the nomination. He is on the right side regardless. I think if we push this type of person too hard they can start to go the other way. Especially if they are stubborn. My 2 cents on that.
last note - for those of you that fixate on Tivo... Look up the Tivo Stream 4k. They aren't Tivos, they are streaming devices that have a Tivo interface for searches built-in. They don't even play content from a Tivo box if you have one - they are just cheaper, better streaming sticks.
You may feel that way, but I've met many people that fit this stereotype.
I also had Boomers that told me not to get into credit cards when I was young, and other Gen Xers that encouraged me to study on my own at the library and not go to college. People who got me into Bill Cooper and got me to question 9/11.
Older people have knowledge and wisdom, but unfortunately, the ones hypnotized become weaponized, and push the narrative onto their young. Not saying you do, and it hurts to be painted as one group, but you have to understand theres a plague of unawakened masses in every generation. We were once there too.
Let OP have his peace and listen with an open heart. Take the opportunity to learn about someone's pain, and you might find a gold nugget of information. This is how I've woken up thus far.
For the upcoming Great Awakening, the dissolution of Clown World, I worry about the elderly. Why? They have more years in the game.
The more decades in Clown World, the more rooted you are in its illusions. You gain comfort in thinking you know how the world works.
How do you awaken these people? We are a Celeb-obsessed culture. There is a decode suggesting 'dead' Celebs will come back to life. The words coming out of, say, Alex Trebek's mouth will be taken as Gospel for a certain demographic. Rush, another. Shinzo Abe, another.
is a boomer someone that is just older than a millennial or genx'er? are boomers responsible for the mistakes the greatest generation made? are they responsible for their elders mistakes as well as their own? morons that blame "boomers" for the worlds problems are severely short sighted. I am aware of this plague of the unawakened, too bad it is on this site as well as everywhere else.
I also had Boomers that told me not to get into credit cards when I was young
I'm glad I didn't listen to that one as having decades of good credit history built up put me way ahead of much of my generation and was a big advantage in the last several years when used effectively.
As much as I would like to disagree with Fiat, I have met too many conservative boomers that fit this stereotype. I feel like they would rather have the old status quo back.
Look on the bright side, you don't fit the stereotype and you are boomer age and also you aren't a millennial.
I get that too many conservative boomer thing. remember, people dont like change, especially older folks. also, I dont fit the stereotype in alot of ways, so am used to it. but stating negative crap about people almost all people of a certain age, then those stating those negative stereotypes cannot argue when negative stereotypes fall against them as well. if you understand what I mean.

how dare you! I am so offended. (then again, like Matt Gaetz said, be offended.)

Roof, u usually get my agreement. Thisnshit is divisive and not even correct.
They don't want it because on some unconscious level, they know the answer. It is the scene in A Few Good Men where Jack Nicholson says you can't handle the truth. Cliché , but accurate.
Hilarious! Awesome!
same
Most of my life, as I had long strings of night work and missed most of the shows in the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

only 4-6% are lost forever. anybody that wants DeSantis is gonna wake up at some point in the show
To paraphrase from the GME subreddits "we're scaling Mount Doom and you're saying we have to wait for hobbits who haven't left the damn Shire yet."
Yes and many good people are suffering because of it. Idgaf about normies rip the band aid off

Found the salty boomer
its ok, if you make it to my age, the kids will despise you even more, because of your ignorance and arrogance.
