I am known as the rescue kitty person here in my neighborhood. Someone found this approximately 3 week old kitten in a dumpster. The guy who rescued him initially can't take care of him but did get him some kitten milk and a bottle and attempted to feed him. He found me on a social media post and contacted me about the kitten.
Thank God he has a good set of lungs. And the temps were not too low this am.
He is now sleeping peacefully in a warm bed (blanket on top of a heating pad) with a full belly in one of my bedrooms until I can find a long term foster mom for him.
At this very moment I have a ragdoll cat on my lap that someone threw away into a dumpster when she was a kitten.
She spent the night in the dumpster. It was -20C outside. It was Xmas eve. She wasn't discovered until Xmas morning, fortunately by one of the cat hospital employees heading in to feed the cats that morning.
She was pretty badly damaged. Went blind, and can't really walk straight from the nerve damage.
She's now 14 years old. She's been the world's sweetest cat, 100%, and each and every single day of her life is a testament to God and a big "fuck you" to these mean assholes that could do that to a cat. Best cat anyone could wish for.
Thank you for helping this kitten! You are a hero!
Aw. Thank you. I can not turn away an animal in need. I have three cats of my own. All 3 were rescues two of them siblings who were tossed out onto a road with 3 other sibs when they were only 12 days old. Our local animal shelter put out a call to my rescue group for someone to bottle feed them or they would be put down at 5 pm at the shelter after they found them in the road. I took all 5 cats in. Spent two months getting them ready for adoption. My next door neighbor took one and I drove two up to my nephew’s home in the NE (I live in NC). I kept the runt and her sister the two smallest for company. And they are very close and two very sweet kitties (most bottle fed cats are). My older cat is more a people cat than a cat cat. She hangs out with us all day.
I got three 3 week old cats 7 years ago that I raised...went from 1 to 4...but when it came time to find them homes...I just couldn't....so very often I have 4 cats keeping me warm...it's crowded but they love their momma!
The idea that the solution to an unwanted kitten is to dump it in the dumpster instead of taking it to an animal shelter or a vet's office or trying to find a home for it is just evil. That kitten was clearly newborn and not independent to live on its own as a stray.
Are people really so stupid or careless that they wouldn't at least try to find someone to take the cat?
Not only that, but people abandon their adult cats who have never known life outside a house and figure they can fend for themselves or don't care either way.
I adopted a stray pregnant cat and whatever she had encountered, she was very hostile and tried to escape several times. After she had kittens, she calmed down and is now a sweet lap cat.
We have 3 house cats and about 30 semi feral outside cats. I live out in the county but people in our area refer to me as the lady with all the cats. The thought of someone throwing a kitten in the dumpster ENRAGES me. And because of the economy people can't afford to feed their animals and instead of turning them in to the shelters they're discarding them like garbage. People are reporting dogs left and right on the community pages and no one is claiming them. So that means they'll die unless adopted.
My dumpster kitty is now 12 years old and spoiled rotten. My husband bottle fed her for 2 weeks while he was off work. He named her GG, for Ghetto Garbage, or I say for Good Girl. Either way, she is loved and spoiled. I hate mean people too. Some just have no heart and no conscience
I've owned three. One had a problem and it pissed on everything I owned.
Another one was very good, until one day it was sleeping on me and it decided to bite me on the mouth. Not play biting. Out the door with ye. They are just so unpredictable. No issues with dogs.

Aww, thank you for helping him.
Well done good and faithful servant!
I have NO use for people who mistreat animals! There is a special place in hell for people who do this stuff!
I think all of hell will be a special hell...know what im sayin?

He must have ended up in the dumpster because he knew he would find his way to you ♥ I'll pray for the kittens that didn't make the journey.
He will be a happy, loved kitty. We got one that was semi feral last year, he was skinny and bedraggled. Now he is spoiled rotten.
He is a Hoss.
Poor kitty, glad it was found.

Thank you for your kitty service! My cats salute you!
I do to we run a non-profit cat sacury
I 100% agree - pisses me equally off as when some dumbass throws their newborn in the dumpster. Neither baby nor animal baby are trash
How can anyone do that type of shit to an animal? I could never look at that kitten and throw it away.
He's a cute little guy. Black and Tuxedo cats are my favorites. For dogs, retrievers or mutts.
I hate cats. But I wouldn't throw an animal in the trash.
Get ready to see more of this shit as people get more desperate.
Apparently you’ve never met the right one. They all have different personalities.
