Best translation of the Bible?
posted 3 years ago by January621 3 years ago by January621 +21 / -0

I want to read the Bible, cover to cover, but I don’t want some pozzed, modern translation of it.

What’s the best/most based translation of the Bible?

75 books are missing from the bible....taken out as not fitting the agenda they want to promote...make sure you read the books of Enoch..the gospel of Peter st Thomas and Mary Magdalene....you will see why they were bremoved.

The people who compiled the bible did not intend for its to be a Koran ie include everything. It was viewed as an evocative icon; one of many. Not being included in the bible =/= not valid, taboo, worth reading or iconic too.

This attitude changed in the West when, for many reasons, the Roman Church transformed Christianity from the Way of Life ie a deeply personal relationship with God that did not require an intermediary priest into a religion.

As members of the original Church observe, Christ didn't come to create another religion; He came to end the need for religions.

Orthodox Catholic Christians still joke, Roman Catholics became the first Protestants.when they formally severed ties with the original Catholic Church 1400 years after Pentacost.

There is the Douay-Rheims Bible (not the 1917 translation) and the Original Vulgate translated by St Jerome into Latin c AD 395.

King James Version - original, not the new. I always go back to it. Manuy others are translations of corrupt texts, tried to witness to a cult member with one and came badly unstruck: the verse I relied on was worded so badly as to me worthless in my attempt to get something across.

There are various translations and ways of translating the Bible. The best is a word for word translation. There are others that are a thought for thought translation.

Modern Bible translations have had more manuscripts available (discovered since the Tindale Bible and KJV translations) that provide more accurate translations.

If you want to read the older translations, then the Tindale, Geneva, and KJV are all good. For modern day translations, there is the NKJV, the NASB, the ESV.

Those all are word for word translations that do a good job. If you want to see side by side comparisons of Scripture, go to Biblehub.com and type in a Scripture verse and you will get the verse from about 25 different Bibles to compare.

If you want a great Bible with attached commentary, you could get anyone of the three I mentioned above in the John MacArthur Study Bible. The commentaries are at the bottom of each page and are excellent.

King James version only. All others are PERVERTED. For more info on the perversions see my document: New age bible translations. I have created another document citing specific perverted examples: Some examples of perversions

I think you've smoked too much weed. At any rate, I don't waste my time debating with atheists. There are too many people that are legitimately seeking God and the Truth to waste time on atheists. God bless you though.

Besides, when did I ever deny the Lordship of Jesus Christ? He's real. He is God and there are none beside Him. The problem is never the Lord but those who falsely come in His name.

Why don't you tell us about the time when you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. I think weed is impairing your ability to make sense. God bless you though.

"Accept Christ as personal savior." The hubris of man right there. Son, it doesn't work that way. Its God who does the accepting and rejecting. You have zero choice in the matter, just like Abram and Moses. He's rejected you. If He had accepted you, such a notion would fill you with disgust.

Better to be cold than an indoctrinated, religious poser pandering the name of Christ in service to Baal. That's you.

You're dead in your sin and don't even see your error. God only sends delusion on the sinner that has no real love for God's truth.

Accept Christ. Wow. Do you not see the pure audacity of such a statement? No, because condemned.

There's an old adage about making assumptions. You should look into that. You don't waste time with atheists and I don't waste mine with indoctrinated, religious posers.

King James - but the old. There is a video and I must put aside time to find it, where is explains how the NWO or globalists have manipulated almost all of the new Bibles to basically disregard Christs teachings. It’s VERY subtle. And those who print these Bibles are owned by the globalists. It’s like the Freemasons. It’s not until you are in the top tiers that you find out that you have been honouring satan and not Jesus Christ.

I've been fascinated by different bible versions since my teens. After many years I finalky discovered The Orthodox Study Bible sold on Amazon and by St Vladimir Seminary Press. What a blessing.

Compiled by scholars, the amount of quality footnotes is amazing and profoundly helpful. These scholarly footnotes allow me to grasp the original meanings of words and phrases as well as historical contexts that add depth to what I'm reading.

Additionally, these footnotes provide sources/links that allow me to dig deeper into anything that piques my interest.

Thank God I finally found this bible. As God promisrd, "seek and you will find".

The Geneva Bible. It is the Bible that the founding fathers of the United States referenced when drafting the Constitution.

NASB 1995 is what I use. It is a very accurate translation. But I also look at KJV and NKJV when I am looking at a verse that I don’t quite understand. I will then look up the Greek definition of a particular word in a verse and that usually gives a better understanding to wherever you might get stuck.

The problem with many translations is how many partisan groups put their twist on some phrases that obscure the original intent, which may have been sincere, but it hides God's true love for humanity (always the goal of evil - did God really say?). As much as the KJV is touted as the only true translation, it's not perfect either, and not always easy to read. Even more troubling, is how more recent versions of modern translations have been subtly changed over the years, and if you compare the same translation recently printed against a 40 year old print, they are not the same (looking at you NIV).

In any case, for the first time through, an easy to read standard version is probably your best bet, and feel free to skip over some passages in the OT to avoid getting bogged down. They are important, but can be delved into later. I say this having read through the Bible a few times (not sure how many), the first time in my early 20s.

Also, I happen to like the Kenneth Wuest translation of the New Testament for a better understanding of nuances of the Greek. But that is not for casual reading, and some people don't like it because they feel Wuest is putting theology into the context that they disagree with. But if the Greek uses the continuous active tense in a phrase, then that means it's not a one and done statement, as could be understood by the English translation, but an ongoing never changing truth.

My fav is KJV…BUT buy a good concordance or use blueletterbible.org to look up the translated meaning of the English scripture. You’ll often be surprised at what you find in terms of “understanding” what is being presented (in the sentence).

Hope that makes sense.

You can’t read the Bible by itself. You need to go get a KJV Bible, then pick up a book called “Strong’s concordance”. The KJV is written well, but in a dialect from the 1600s. Strong’s directly translates from the original Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic to provide context to what you’re reading.

I’m not a Christian, but I have studied the Bible. Leave no stone unturned.
