These people might have been Twitter employees on paper but my guess is a lot of them were GCHQ spooks or Met police special branch first and foremost and will be given a soft landing somewhere else.

Does anyone know if employees in other countries are protected by the WARN Act? The WARN Act rewired 60's days notice to employees if mass layoffs are coming. I read somewhere that there is a class action suit being set up by US employees in preparation for the massive lay offs. If workers in foreign countries aren't covered by the US WARN Act, Elon has found a way to bypass the requirement to give employees 60 day notice if he only lets foreign workers go.
My understanding is he is giving them 90 days severance which is above what is contractually required so I don't know if they have a leg to stand on with their law suit.
Maybe this is a loophole for all. He can fire the foreign workers at will, then inform the undesirable workers in the States that they are still employed but their office is in iran/Ukraine/Ethiopia/Siberia. Pay for their relocation and pay scale for that locale. Most would quit

No, other countires are not covered by US labor laws.
Twitter gave employees a 6 month warning, and that's according to the New York Times.
