Their cars use external combustion engines.
Underrated comment.

how modern
Or Nuclear. 80% in Illinois when I grew up there. Probably the same in TN with TVA and Hydro.
I just got an idea. Send me all your alternators and stationary bikes. MF's can pedal for hundreds of miles to drive tens...

I just drove down to Austin to visit a family member in the hospital. All of the Tesla charging stations were full of people sitting in their cars getting a charge. Who TF wants to sit around waiting for a car to charge.
If you do a lot of long travels (300mi+) you’re probably better off with an ICE.
But if you’re like me (or the average driver) an EV will actually save you time.
My personal example:
My 2018 Volvo V90 T5 = 60 visits to the gas station to fill up a year (including long drives) x 5 minutes a visit = 300 minutes/5 hours spent filling the tank a year.
My 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 = charging the battery at home 3x a week for my daily commute = 150 x 10 seconds (to plug in/out) = 25 minutes.
On long drives = 12 times a year x 15 minutes = 3 hours a year.
Total 3h25m a year driving an EV doing a 600mi drive on average once a month.
owning an EV has a few downsides compared to owning an ICE, but for me waiting to charge on long trips is not one of them. You’ll probably need a toilet/rest stop when driving every 2-3 hours anyway.
TOUCHE'
it's free for NOW in some places, just like the covid jabs were free at first.
Just wait until they start charging for them.
First few are free...then... it costs ya
i say take it a step further and only allow them to charge their cars using wind and solar, who's wind mills and solar panels were made using zero carbon emission industrial processes. they can't really have a clean conscience causing all the pollution from harvesting rare earth materials.
Hydro electric, like the Hoover Dam?
I walked by a charging station at work and was tempted to unplug them.
hey now! with that logic theyd have to use the wrong bathrooms!
nah. i got mine for the super fast launches. vroom.
Great idea.
