Look for Rick Beato on YouTube. He will no doubt have a very thoughtful tribute posted soon. His channel is FULL of great music-oriented content.
Great Channel
Agree. He was in a class by himself.
You said that perfectly .. class by himself! yes indeed ,, wow what an absolute legend ! King !
He was one of one. Nobody sounds like Jeff Beck.

R.I.P.
Good stuff!!!
...the KIng of Tone....
No one could play a Strat like Jeff. Not even the great Jimi Hendrix. Although, to be fair, Jimi left us far too soon to know what he might have accomplished. But Jeff? Man, that dude could conjure forth some of the most tasteful, most eloquent and most rude sounds and tones ever heard...and many times he would do them in the same passage with just his thumb (and sometimes fingers) plus the wammy bar. He could make the guitar weep, spit, hiss, moan, cry and laugh...all effortlessly. RIP Mr. Beck, your legacy is safe, and you shall be missed by all that loved you and were/are inspired by you.
I don’t mean to spoil his legacy for anyone but it should be noted that he regularly played in Masonic temples for a Masonic audience.
Coolest cat in the world and his playing was always off the leash. __ Chairman Meow CCCP

Seldom used a guitar pick. Great player. The great ones are disappearing.

I never saw him play.. sob. He was a far better guitarist than most as most of the rock guitarists couldn't understand jazz chords but he did.
From what? If it's the vax, then this might (sadly) be what wakes my sister up.
announcement on Twitter They're saying it was a very recent case of bacterial meningitis. He was just touring recently (he and Johnny Depp were just here in Louisville KY this past Oct) and was featured on the title track of Ozzy Osbourne's most recent album Patient Number 9
such and absolute feckin' shame
On the site, the brief notice says "... After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis..."
Suddenly.
Bummer!
Bummer.... great guitarist. He'll be greatly missed. In the early days when teaming up with Rod Stewart, it was when Stewart's music was at its best in my opinion. He made it shine.
Damn. R.I.P…
His music was great. But what do we know about about his character, was he a good person?
Yes, i am curious. Is it significant he died on 1-11?
Being a guitar player myself, he was definitely an influence. His style and sound was immediately identifiable. Such a cool and unique player. I was fortunate to see him live only once. The Live at Ronnie Scott's concert video is a classic, IMO.
R.I.P Jeff ...........
Yes Ronnie Scott was classic. I saw him live with Tal Wilkenfeld. I always wondered why her career bass-ically (pun!) disappeared and if she did not perhaps comply with the powers that be in the music industry ...
