Non vaxxed airline pilot here.... while more than 50% definitely are vaxxed.... there’s a lot that aren’t as well
I thought the jab was mandatory for pilots?
Only a couple major airlines actually made them mandatory.... and those that were refused were fired and later won lawsuits reinstating them. But the other major airlines (like mine) did everything they could to force the vaccine without actually requiring it.
Good for you for holding out. I am self employed so it was easy for me.
Ha! I always wanted to try that out..... to talk someone through a landing over the radio.... if you were able to access the cockpit, figure out the radio, all systems are working ok, and the weather is ok, then I think you would have a decent shot at it
Ha! What a way to go out
From what I remembered, a lot refused. United went as far and grounding them without pay and I don't believe they were able to go to another company. United lost that suit.
Thanks that's good to know! Funny, they act like the only people that would refuse are total nut jobs. And yet, the lawsuits for unjust firing/suspension were filed by healthcare workers and airline pilots.
I you fly, imagine you are in the movie "Airplane" and both pilots ate the fish. Surely, you must agree!
"It's OK, I speak jive."
LOL I found this at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080339/characters/nm0082511
Of course I agree, and don’t call me Shirley.
Big and Roy, I just want to tell you both, Good Luck. We're all counting on you.

Soon more cars will become battering rams and more plain will become missiles... Be careful frens!
“ It looks like the vax gave at least 50M Americans heart damage.”
Thank God I’m pure blood!
Yes!
Freebloods FTW
Wow !
Anyone have a list of airlines who did not require jabs? That would be very helpful and a great way to show support for companies who didn't force poison their employees
Planes falling out of the sky. Now that's a Great Awakening.
nah, thats just climate change
My son is well on his way to fly the friendly skies. Unvaxxed and staying that way.
Not to mention, airports suck.
Bad karma.
(Lost my glasses. Using an obsolete pair. Read the title as "Do Not Get On a Planet." Did not faze me. I've gotten used to this page.)
As if I needed any MORE reason to avoid airports (mini Marxist kingdoms all) and never set foot on a commercial airliner again.
I'm in FL. My left-of-Marx, vaxhole brother (70 with heart trouble) is in WA; when he croaks I'm gonna be a funeral no-show unless I feel like making a 6000-mile round trip in the car, paying over $1000 for gas LOL
No thanks, if I miss it he'll be no deader than if he'd remained a freeblood
Not just planes, but truck drivers and regular cars pose a greater risk....
TLDR;
You are, unfortunately, your own best doctor. Don't get sick, or injured, or wrong think. It's not safe out there. #theshowerisfake
The...shower? Fake?
I can't fly outside Canada anyway (because I'm not vaxxed) so this won't affect me as I drive anywhere I want to go inside Canada.
We flew last month and I was dreading it. No problems that I'm aware of, thankfully.
this is what your jabbed pilot experience™ may look like:

planes today can fly themselves, and even land all by themselves, I'm not worried.
No they can't. That needs a huge infastructure of radar, comms equipment, and other items such as real time routing of air highways. Not to mention emergencies, emergencies can only be dealt with by humans as humans can think.

FYI, planes on final approach are flown by the pilot, not the auto landing system. If the pilot strokes out in those last moments, it means the plane goes into the ground. I would bet this is exactly what happened in Nepal.
haven't been on a plane since July 2001. :x
What will happen when there are two separate cardiac events on the flight deck over the middle of the atlantic?
I have never flown, and never intend to. On trips, I like to see the sites along the way, so I drive everywhere. I've been all over the eastern 2/3 of the US, from Texas to North Dakota and most states east. I haven't been to the states north and east of New York and New Jersey.
Lol. We will probably see it on the news too! I know it's not a joke, but what else can you do but laugh.
Yeah when I die I want to go out like my grandmother - peacefully in her sleep.
Not like the passengers in her car.

Well God basically gave us planes, or at least everything the planes are made of.
