Check out Smoky Mountain Knife Works, they have all kinds of self-defense stuff other than knives... guns, canes, and sword canes. I have the latter, it looks like a harmless, innocent black cane, but you can pull out an 18-inch blade if you need it. I wouldn't carry it through airport security, but everywhere else it's "just a cane."
Two years ago, the TN legislature passed a bill, that made all knife laws illegal in Tennessee. You can carry a bowie knife, if you so choose. Although a Katana might be a bit of overkill.
That's why I love my state. I already carry a knife everyday, a spring-assisted thing that is quite awesome and very sharp. No man is fully dressed unless he is carrying a knife of some sort on his person.
That is a VERY cool channel. I'll have to check out all their vids. Besides the sword cane, I also have a straight hickory cane that has a very heavy bulb made out of steel (I think) that would make and excellent skull crusher. Heavy as it is, it's a screw-off knob and is hollow, so maybe I'll fill it with lead shot to give it more heft.
Pepper spray as well. Best thing to do though if you’re in the city is to not go into the city and keep a low profile. I avoid Seattle like plague and I don’t wear nice clothing. If you don’t look like you have money you will be left alone usually.
If you absolutely have to go into the city be strapped. Concealed carry and a knife. If you can’t conceal carry knife and pepper spray. But I have only been to Seattle twice in the past two years. I stick to the burbs.
I live in a state where you need a permit to carry a gun and I do not have a permit but I am 72 years old this year and I carry everywhere I go. I would never pull unless I planned on pulling the trigger and there will not be any warning if I decide to shoot. I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by six and I am waaaayyyy past fighting age!
No Obles English! Hehehe Actually I read this as one sentence. "No one should look for a fight. At 74" -------thinking you were talking about me but heck, I am old and can't see well either! Kek
A friend I had at college had some nightstick thing attached to her key chain which she got at a self-defense class. I don't think she ever had to use it, though.
I've thought about buying a blank key and putting an edge on it, just to see if I could..might be interesting in a fight, especially with a properly sharpened tip...
funny enough, I made an "L" shaped tool for work and carried it around for almost a year... almost nobody questioned, especially if I played it off like it was a cane.
It's just a steel bar with a ninety-degree angle at one end for grabbing things out of reach and some paracord at the other end. Maybe I'll start carrying it again...
Since my twenties I have my key bundle grabbed tightly in my hand in my pocket, if I have to walk uncertain areas. But it is all about the energy you are in at this moment, not fear, but readiness, vigiliance.
I am a woman and in my twenties, I walked home through a park after meeting my girlfriends in the small city I lived, it was getting dark and one girl borrowed me her pepper spray.
While walking I heard steps behind me for minutes in the park, I grabbed in my pocket and realized also my own peper spray was there. With one in each hand I walked a bit quicker and reached a street with houses again.
The steps where closing up so I moved to the right to give way, but then was grabbed from behind around my body tightly.
I was so angered and turned around abruptly, yelled at the person absolutely loudly and aggressively that he would get peppered - He was so astonished that he totally let loose ...
... and so I ran for my life. Successfully!
I was so angered, I would have beaten him up, with pepper spray, with my keys, with my energy and anger. My vigiliance and anger saved me.
I've heard about the key technique in self defense. suposedly, you can put the keys in between your fingers as a sort of bohemi brass knuckles if you need to?
kinda surprised that, considering you're on this site, you don't have something like a .38 special, though, lol.
It shows me that some do know nothing about history, the cabale, ww1 and ww2, about hunger games, depression, spiralling countries into debt, coup d'etats and allied forces. And especially not about the "empires" that took over many countries in the world and sucked them dry.
But enjoy your "empire" falling into hell now. Due to a stolen election. Should I say "stupid people" really fuck everything up? I think that would be very arrogant, dumb and we will see what this arrogance will bring to you.
Canemasters is probably who OP is talking about. Not cheap, but they last a lifetime. I have ones I bought in 1999-2000 that are like new today. Nasty suckers, shark teeth on the shaft. (Not real teeth, its the cut)
On point. On the unfortunate occasions that require me to fly, a hickory bent cane is my constant companion. It is actually a well designed martial arts weapon.
A cane is definitely an excellent weapon. Like any weapon, whether it's a gun, knife, cane, etc., only practice makes perfect. Know when and how to use your cane, if it's taken away from you in a fight, not good.
2 men (one in black, the other in MAGA gear) fighting with umbrellas against each other star-wars style and with Bruce-Lee level, like they had light-swords in their hands - WITH sound of the umbrella 'swords'. Behind them the burning city of Portland, Seattle, ... - you name it!
Yup , act accordingly . Do you think carrying a knife at the airport won't get you arrested? Alternative weapons are treated the same at the places you mentioned. I for one don't fly anymore bc of (pilot vaxx) I carry my weapons in the car. You can laugh but your the one asking what other weapons to use. Pull a stick out against someone with a gun and see what happens.in other words your stick is considered a weapon everywhere you go , choose your weapons wisely.
Don't come off like I'm the dumbass here. Read what you wrote. Go ahead and carry your Cain, not only at the airport but carry it downtown Chicago or anywhere else, and see for yourself what happens when you pull it out as a weapon, gees🙄.
A sturdy, high lumen flashlight. I keep one in my offhand front pocket. If I'm walking around anywhere at night I have it in hand. Use it as a blinder, or a bashing tool. Depending on what I'm wearing and where I'm going I may have gun, knife, pepper spray, or all of the above too.
The Thought occurred is all, Why of course not getting through TSA, thought someone may be interested in...
Not my SALES site either.
I didn't realize you were in charge of comments, Thank you for your opinion though.

Does it come with a fur coat and pimp hat? I'm kidding, but this is a good idea
just be sure to check local laws, you might be surprised how restrictive they can be about blades, especially concealed.
Well I live in Tennessee, and while a sword cane MIGHT be illegal, I'd rather be tried by 12 jurors than buried by 6 pallbearers.
Sure, it's just getting clipped by the police when nothing even happens could suck, be careful.
Always.

I agree pepper spray - or even using bear spray. Even a can of raid can work the same way- can keep small cans in your cars side pocket.

I have no wish to harm anyone but I will protect me and my wife!
74??? Don't age me prematurely! Kek

There is no lol in countries with strong gun restrictions, fren!
fair enough.
stupid people really fuck everything up, don't they?
No, I don't think so! I think so!
It shows me that some do know nothing about history, the cabale, ww1 and ww2, about hunger games, depression, spiralling countries into debt, coup d'etats and allied forces. And especially not about the "empires" that took over many countries in the world and sucked them dry.

lol, I wasn't attacking you, sorry for the confusion.
by "stupid people," I meant the "why would any law-abiding citizen need a gun!?!" idiots.
Canemasters is probably who OP is talking about. Not cheap, but they last a lifetime. I have ones I bought in 1999-2000 that are like new today. Nasty suckers, shark teeth on the shaft. (Not real teeth, its the cut)
I just discovered Canemasters a few minutes ago, looking up what a Shillelagh is. What a neat idea.
Thank you to all of you, this is super good advice. Happy Easter to all of you and God bless you.

Thoughtful idea...thanks....
Are there also self-protection umbrellas, just an idea!
The Unbreakable Umbrella is great. I carry the collapsible version, my friend uses the full size version when he can't carry a firearm on the job.
Assuming you don't live in San Diego, carrying an umbrella is generally pretty reasonable.
just found info on it and also here.
lol - just saw the picture in my mind:

I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6,pack heat, screw thier laws.
Welp , when you go somewhere that you know there is a checkpoint act accordingly. What places do you have checkpoints at.? We aren't in kosavo.

Good ideas especially for courts or other areas like you said. Thanks for the tip.

My uncle had a cane that could extend a blade.
S&W 9mm.
I believe you can put a fire arm in your luggage , not carry on luggage but regular luggage , I'm sure there are rules about it .
I'm sticking with a Sig M11A1
Wonder why the thumbs down here?

Have you seen this? I went looking to see what a Shillelagh is and happened on this: https://www.youtube.com/@CaneMasters-MartialArts Very intriguing.

I simply failed to see the point of your long-winded plagiarism. It came across as a sad "Hey, look at me" cry for attention.
Said the guy with 20 replies to his own post. LOL.
