Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
My father is devastated after Fox canceled Tucker. I introduced him to here but he's almost 70 and not the dig around the internet type. I'll find answers on the interwebs and search for stuff myself but he's old and needs a new news source that's easy for his daily routine. I'd greatly appreciate any recommendations from my frens. Thank you in advance.
I watch Real America's Voice on Dish 219. They have good coverage and PDJT when he is live.
I'm old too, and this is what works for me. Obviously any MSM, left or right, cannot give me what I need for info in their 60 minute performance, with commercial breaks. But, it can give me topics to later research on my own. I cannot do the digging that many of you have done, just do not have the expertise, but if there are topics that Carlson brought up, maybe you can help show him how to investigate. Sort of like homework. He can pick one, and just use a search engine that you approve of, and go from there.Ask him what peaks his interest, stick to one thing (not the rabbit hole, there are just too many avenues that it takes and it is tiresome for an older person, much easier to stay on task for one subject at a time). Does he have a PC or a laptop? He can hook it up to his tv screen and watch just like a regular TV, you can show him how, not too old for that simple thing.
Great advice.
I agree with others here that getting him on OANN and RSBN is a good idea
but I would also have him subscribe to Walk Don't Run Productions on youtube, who has some excellent takes tailor made for normies to easily digest
And a subscription to Epoch Times, which will feel like a Fox News or CNN feed to him but even when not on Q, no where near as cucked
Oh, subscription to Epoch Times is totally the way to go.
Good recommendation.
Also, as people get older, their news needs change; old newscasters disappear and are not replaced. A body can do well by adding supplemental collagen to their daily news feed. I've tried it, and it's been an essential part of waking up. Ever since adding a side of collagen to my daily news diet, all the wrinkles have disappeared from my newspaper and I feel great!
LLLLet's talk about a podcast that will keep him up to date on the economic collapse, the socio-political landscape and the deep state. If that doesn't make sense, I'll give you the name of the podcast run by a guy named Dave. His voice is less squeaky than Tucker's.
I know it's you, Dave. The Deep State, the puppet masters, Big Tech, corrupt politicians...they all know it's you, too. But more about that a little bit later.
You know y'all reveal yourselves as listeners. The comments are a complete and utter tell.
OAN or even better RSBN. If he's adventurous, possibly Redacted. All look like traditional newscasts.
