TBH. If we get nuked. The County I live in will probably cease to exist as anything other then a radioactive hellhole. Given the amount of Defense Contractors and Shit with factories. Not to mention the local Airbase.
So if the alert comes. I’ll probably start drinking. If I’m going to die. No use going out sober.
this is not the case. do not lose faith. IF any nuclear detonation occurs, it will be contained. This was never going to be clean, but widespread nuclear destruction is not a possibility.
there is no 'if' that leads to your country becoming a radioactive hellhole. if a nuke detonates on US soil, it is not the end. the trade towers could have been nuked, and we would have carried on. whatever happens, just keep faith.
I understand the sentiment behind this comment, however in this scenario, IF a nuclear weapon or bomb is detonated, it would not be contained. It does not work that way, there is no known method, options, techniques or technology that exists to contain the fallout and after math of an actual nuclear detonation.
i mean the damage would be limited. technically yes, radioactive particles would drift for miles. we've handled that before. the cleanup of earth will take unknown methods anyways. that's okay. even one detonation, were that to happen, is a far cry from a nuclear winter. we will perservere. God is in control.
The damage would be equivalent to size, type and source of fission or fusion. The detonation would be equivalent of the result of contributing mechanisms of the device. There is no containment of that. Nuclear fallout (winter) would be equivalent of the blast radius and atmospheric release coupled by the by product isotopes and isotope reaction of the radioactive material used for fission/fusion, causing the detonation. This would be devastating to localized area upward of 100 miles or more. Its not even a case to discuss or debate whether the damage would be limited. Essentially 1 to 5 miles of ground level within the radius of detonation would be vaporized and virtually uninhabitable of nearly any living organism. I would consider that far beyond damage and in the category of absolute. If you are within those parameters the only god that is in control at that point is the outcome of physics and the one you decided to pray to in your brain before it is wiped from existence.
Be advised that the thesis of a "nuclear winter" has some inherent contradictions. Only bombs above a certain yield can produce mushroom clouds that carry soot particles (from burned forests and cities) to altitudes where they will not be washed out by precipitation, and can therefore linger indefinitely. But, above this yield, the mushroom cloud rises so fast, it does not gather soot from burning forests, etc. So, where a nuclear winter cloud would be possible, it could happen only for bombs that have low enough yield that the soot would be washed out by the first rain.
Exactly my thoughts too. It will be contained to exactly the 10 sq miles that our 1st president donated to the country . Putin is not brutal but he might have to deal with a problem when he has to & he knows exactly where the problem is...
The Nuke’s that hit Japan were under three percent effective, meaning about 97% percent of the uranium/ plutonium was fallout. It’s been reported that Russian nukes are in the 90-95% range meaning fallout is much less a concern. This is concerning because fallout being much less a consequence makes nukes a much more viable weapon.
That said, the area’s that were “nuked” are thriving today, so is the Nuke scare a lie?
Unfissioned uranium or plutonium may be radioactive, but no more so than the material in its original state. Fission products, however, can have short half-lives and would be therefore intense, and would compose most of the fallout of concern. On the evidence of the bombs in Japan, few people were killed by fallout.
This was several years ago, but I remember having a conversation with my boss about this and we were in agreement- if the bomb has to fall, drop it here. No interest in living in the zombie apocalypse that will follow.

The only thing left standing will be Blucifer, eyes glowing red after absorbing the nuclear energy.
You aren’t standing alone , I’m here with you fellow patriot
So you’re saying being nuked is better than waiting 2 more weeks?
If we "Do get nuked" and you're far away enough from blast, don't go outside for a while, lol.
Make sure you got plenty of iodine tablets and food.
Must be in my town

Like those ackkackaaacckkkk in Mars Atracks?
lol
I said IF for a reason.

Pretty sure immigrant said "county."

We aren’t getting nuked. We’re really watching a movie. Trust the plan.

I think it’s like 72hrs
Very strange. I can't find our exchange on the main thread. That's as good a reason as any not to argue.
