All the millionaires in this great country and we can't get this guy a job?
We can't take care of our vets?
Shameful.
if he got a hold of Trump it would happen.....
Absolutely it would happen! POTUS loves our vets!
I wish I knew how to make that happen.
you and me both
old picture, it's from November 2015
I was in new york and saw many vets on the street so I helped them up and pulled them into local businesses to get them a job.
Sometimes people just need some encouragement.
Being without a place to stay really messes with your head unless you understand the right mindset.
I say we pull an abe lincoln and give vets a small home once they leave service. Free.
Veterans deserve any donations they get and can find.
There are many businesses that love hiring veterans.
They deserve to be helped; same time they need to learn urban survival and seek out job training.
Accurate.
We were just having this discussion at dinner last night with my parents. Wouldn’t it be cool if, on top of the homelessness, chemical dependency and mental health issues our vets face- wouldn’t it be great if a little attention was focused on military tinnitus (hearing) problems? Since it’s the number ONE disability in veterans. And it contributes heavily to veteran suicide and mental health issues. Wouldn’t it be great to start hearing about a cure for tinnitus? Research studies and fancy things like “Tinnitus awareness month” and so on. Too boring though, the American public needs fancier things like other countries and boobies and hearts to get all excited about.
I heard bhramari pranayama also called as humming bee pranayama is very effective against Tinnitus. This is done by closing both ears with fingers and making a humming bee like sound. There are a lot of videos on youtube about how to do it.Please look into it and share it with any veteran suffering from it.
I’ll try it. I have it. Dad has it, most of my buddies have it. Thank you!
Welcome.
welcome...i suggested this to my brother for anxity. He said it was very helpful...so this helps in many ways.
Solutions don't create Loosh for their Reptilian overlords. War does. Suffering does. $170,000,000,000 divided by ALL the homeless in our country would give each and every homeless person over $200K which would go a long way in paying for housing, mental health or drug rehab costs. But it doesn't feed the Reptiles so it won't ever happen.
Just as important -- mybe more so -- is hearing loss, caused by artillery fire. I have hearing loss caused by having been too close to an explosion (don't ask), and trust me, hearing aids are only a partial answer.
There a few organizations right now looking into ways of genetically regenerating lost cochleal cilia cells, but the whole thing could be hugely speeded up if they had the kind of funding we dish out to Ukraine evry goddam day.
Sorry to hear that and I absolutely agree, wtf.
I would give him money on the condition that he not feed his baby boy soy formula. It’s a travesty what these sociopaths in power have done to this great nation on so many fronts.
Biden will take the 7 mo if that will help.
Not to mention all of the money going towards supporting illegals.
I have a policy of not giving money away to beggars. Just as one example, last week I have seen a person driving a vehicle, parking it, getting out and holding a cardboard sign that says "Need money for gas". The same ones driving the same vehicle have been at my local truck stop for the last several weeks. They are gone after 5p.m., but drive their vehicle back and park it in the afternoon. They're making good money at this gig, tax free, so why get a real job?
This fellow has taken the time and money to go buy a whiteboard, a pack of colored markers, took time to create the board and put some thought and effort into it, then sits still for hours at a time begging for money when so many places (around me) are still hiring anyone willing to work for 15-25$ an hour because they can't find reliable help. I learned my lesson giving money to people like this. It only encourages them more to sit there and take YOUR hard earned money from YOU. After giving a guy a $100 bill one day who was crying in our police department with his family, who PROMISED repeatedly to shape up, sober up and find work so he wouldn't find himself in the same predicament, only to see him stroll back in begging again a few days later, Nope, Nope and Nope, never again.
Yeah I'm the same way. There's a young man in our town who looks to be in his mid-20's, mentally healthy, and completely able bodied who begs at intersections all the time. Why can't he put that energy towards a job? As a single parent I've been broke before. I took a second job, sold stuff on eBay, donated plasma, basically anything in order to provide. Plus there's a lot of help available to them in my city. They just don't want to follow the rules in order to get that help.
And don't get me started on a lot of the online "fundraisers" I see (a la gofundme). Maybe I'm heartless....
I'd love to find out what "family" is making elderly special needs people beg for change at the local shopping center. These poor people (same ones) are dropped off, wear a mask all day and stand for hours shaking or rocking back-and-forth with a cup and a sign saying "Family in need".
The people that make them do this are disgusting.
I make them give me their story before I hand out money.
Absolutely nothing wrong with this. Trust and verify. Anyone can say anything with a straight face.
I’m a good judge of character and know signs of deceit. Just want to see if they are being honest.
I saw a poor looking man in his 50' perhaps with a sign, 'Need money to travel to east coast to see sister dying of cancer'. I gave him 10 bucks (circa 1984). This was in Sacramento. About 2 months later I was in the Santa Cruz area, and there was the same guy with the same sign standing on a corner. Damn!
What makes me so infuriated is that our vets are treated so badly however illegals are given everything. I am married to a vet and it ticks me off when I see things like this. It also ticks me off because I know, I have seen the videos where tons of baby formula was being destroyed to cause a shortage. I pray this vet finds a 2nd job soon, however no family should have to work multiple jobs to survive.
We all know that money is being recycled into the pockets of government officials, Congressional leaders and pay offs in a money laundering scheme.
And they wonder why the military is missing their recruitment quotas... If this is how vets are treated there's no point enlisting.
This breaks my heart! We all need to be praying for this guy and others in his position.
One of the biggest problems for homeless vets is that people read a headline about homeless vets or his sign that he's holding, then be outraged, then say something about how we "need to pray for... ". Prayer is excellent, and everyone should do it. But what happens is the initial outrage you experience is supposed to spur you to action so as to resolve the uncomfortable outrage. But since the "pray for" sentiment is rallied around and feels good, most of the time that's the end of it. People have decided to offload any work or effort they may have to spend, to God.
Look, prayer is great. Use it myself. A lot. But I understand why a lot of people roll their eyes at the notion.
"soy baby formula"
I'd help him out with everyting but the soy baby formula
I just can’t beleive a vet would don his uniform and beg for money.
He would be working two, three jobs.
This just seems a bit “off”
The problem with veterans is that they don’t kick back 10% to the big guy so they don’t get anything from Biden
Photo was taken in New York City in November of 2015.

I hate to say it, but I’ve seen vets do this shit before. Saw one in Vegas a few years ago. He had a whole display laid out as well, dd214, photos, the whole nine. After I confirmed his was indeed a veteran, I gave him my personal and VA contact info. I told him the VA could get him off the street the very next day to just call or email me. I never heard from the guy. That’s when I knew he was just scamming people on the strip and wanted nothing more.
This is ridiculous and shameful. It makes me ashamed. We need to take care of our veterans! If it wasn't for them, none of this would be here!
