Far away from tri state, but right over the border up in Vermont, throat is scratchy, eyes are burning, eclipse lighting, high noon it looked as light as dawn or dusk. I have my window shut in my bedroom and the air purifier on, looks like fog in the woods but it isn't , it's smoke. Got real windy this morning, from the east, I thought it would clear it, but nope.
It could be used as such. Saw an AF cargo plane take off Monday. Looked the other way for ~5 seconds and went back to the plane. It disappeared into the smoke despite being easily visible before.
Ohio , it's been really dry , no rain for weeks, none in the near future forecast. Bet the haze was forest fires , could have come from about anywhere. ,,, Well I'll be danged, it rained since 5:30 till 1 am, Ohio
I have no idea, but I live in a coastal town, and can smell it this morning. I just went outside for moment to sniff the air because I can smell it in my house.
Northern IN and we've had two days of haze out in the rural areas. Not normal for here. Not sure if it's pollution, smoke, or just dust (no rain in almost a month and Temps around 90 all Last week). Got a few sprinkles today.

Thank you! This really helps.
Reporting from Upstate NY.
The whole town smells like burnt wood and there is a foggy/smoky blanket that is covering the town.
Been told it is due to wild fires. Must have been one hell of a while fire.
This shows the fires and where the smoke is going:

Was up there last week, heard there were wildfires in South Jersey, maybe they spread?
It's those damn Canadians, first thier quarters now this 😁
Reported up to 160 fires in Canada, most of them burning uncontrolled.
There are probably multiple tri-state areas.
Hazy in the Cincinnati area.

It's in Ohio too.....blowing down from the Canadian fires.
I kinda wonder if this is a smoke screen for something.

I’m in Rockland county NY. I’d say it’s pretty bad. Been getting worse and worse all day. Wonder what the morning will bring
It was here in Utah last week as well.
My whole town is covered in smoke. I Heard it's in Jackson New Jersey.
It blew in from the north down the Delaware river. Very dense smoke.

We had the same in wisconsin. From the Canada fires. Air alerts every day. The wind changed so we are out of it now.
