GREAT RE-CAP....thanks fren...sharing !!!
God's Word is very clear on this point: “You shall not murder.” And what God says we must obey, or we face the consequences on judgment day.
I don't disagree with you, but I'd be careful with suggesting that God's word (or more specifically, your interpretation of God's word) should determine what our laws should be. I'm happy about this ruling too and also think of abortion as murder but just because some laws align with God's word doesn't mean all of God's word should be law, or that all laws should be based on it.
Wow God is quite clear. Keep the 10 commandments and there is no need for laws.
Imagine being on this board. Knowing the Q drops that speak of God and biblical references. Seeing the elite secret societies engaging in demonic activity and pushing Satan to the fore front of society and having the stupidity to type the above comment. Bless your heart anon.
What are you trashing me for? I am talking about God and His commandments.
The way you wrote that looks like you’re bashing it.
No I am not.
Why is scoffing at the idea that only the 10 commandments are needed in our day and age "bashing the 10 commandments"? Most people here believe the 10 commandments are important and should be followed, but there's a reason they're not the only laws on the books. My God, what are you people even saying right now?
The other laws on the books are mostly detailed elaborations of the 10 commandments. Obviously, there is always temporal law. The Lord pointed out that such will be the result of having Kings, yet he also pointed out they were divinely appointed to apply the law. (Appointed, not blessed. Sometimes, they were a disappointment.)
I 100 per cent agree with you. Don't delete your post. Obviously our country suffers because there is a famine of God's word throughout the land. The righteousness and blessings of God come from his word, which is his law.
Amen.
What a childish reply.
Says the child.
Christ is King.
I'm not sure what that reply was meant to suggest.
There is no higher authority than the king
Christ is King
Simple
How the fuck do you think that applies to this conversation?
You were talking about law.
Christ is King.
It's not that hard.
No it's just overly simplistic to the point of parody. It's an empty platitude unless you can give us a real world explanation of how that would look.
"What goes around comes around."
Hey! Who needs laws??? We'll just let everyone run around living out their interpretation of that and we'll be fine!
Grow up or shut up, dude.
Yup. Especially when there are different interpretations about who (or what) god is, and what god's words actually are.
10 commandments.
Those are fine.
But I don't want to live under Sharia, or a Mormon theocracy.
😁
I never mentioned any religion. I mentioned the Bible.
Works for me for the most part. Lots of good stuff in there. Some wacky stuff too, ngl.
What is the 'wacky stuff'?
Do you think that we should have Biblical laws taking a larger role in society?
This is why it is suggested that discussing religion or politics aka law-making is unwise to do at "parties". Because people just cannot endure it when others have a differing philosophy, and so, go on the attack. How is this any different than woke intolerance? It sure feels the same. Exactly why most of my life I ran screaming from people waving Bibles. And now I follow Jesus. But not religion.
Please use discernment. I too have rejected denominationalism. We are instructed not to follow men or the philosophies/interpretations of men but to follow Jesus alone. However, in rejecting denominationalism, we must also remember that we are instructed to remain in fellowship. The purpose of fellowship is to encourage one another, to study the Word, and to worship our glorious Creator King. So as you reject "religion" find a place for fellowship - whether in a formal place of worship or in a home church or neighborhood Bible study. These are both Biblical imperatives.
I completely agree.
Hmm.. Off the top of my head?
David bringing Saul extra foreskins. Why he needs foreskins anyway... Why not heads, hearts, ears? Just ewwew.
Then there is Lot: "have your way with my daughters, but don't touch these angels/travelers." yeah no, that dude can pound sand.
Jews not letting a dude with a testicle injury, or who have had his "privy member cut off" into the temple (Leviticus). In all fairness, with all the genital hacking being done in the name of transgenderism, this one seems less wacky than it did 30 years ago)
My personal favorite though, is Elisha having God send a female bear to rip some kids to shreds, for making fun of his baldness. Nice guy, that Elisha.
Now, I'm used to apologetics. "It was a different time", "they weren't kids, but young adults", "the importance was about protecting your guests and hospitality" etc. Here's the thing. Even if apologists are right, it's still wacky. And that's okay. There's more good stuff than bad in the Bible. Ways to live. How to treat others fairly. The healing power of forgiveness. How sometimes all you have to sustain you in times of trouble is faith. How redemption is possible. And how even great men can fall. I find the new testament more inspiring. Less wacky stuff.
Calling it wacky isn't meant as an insult. But as a non-religious pede, I gotta say: a lot of it makes total sense - and a lot of it just doesn't compute.
YMMV fren. Take the good, shun the evil. That's how I try to live.
(edit: spelling. David wasn't 'brining' Saul. Then we'd call him Sault. Lol)
The fact they use tax payer money to kill their child is insane. If you want to murder your child do it on your dime, bc many people who pay taxes that go into medicaid do not want to support your bad choices.
Top of my prayer list is always for those that have no one to pray for them including the unborn.
