Also..I think the idea of growing diversity in the military is kind of important. If you are white chances are either you are a soyboy who hates our flag and troops or you are a patriot who has family or friends who have served so you have built in love and respect for military
However.."minorities" slip through the cracks. You are less likely to have enlisted or veteran family members. When TV/movies show "heroes" they never look and sound like you. You are in school and almost none of your peers are thinking about enlisting. You either hate your country or you simply do not care.
If we want these groups of people to love our country the way we do, you have to nurture those feelings. These kids need to see they can become pilots, generals, etc..we need to teach them nationalism and patriotism
