How stupid is this? The Dem candidate wont debate but one who is not a candidate will? What do I care what Gruesom thinks. Even worse, why would a Rep candidate debate with someone who is not in the race. You know that could end Desanctus' run.

The only thing I can think of is it'll either prop up DeSantis campaign and/or give Newsom exposure. I do believe that the DNC wants to install Newsom as the dem candidate.
If (big if) the race ends up to be DeSantis vs Newsom, it'll be like the 2008 race. It didn't matter who won. They were both on the same team.
