The issue with Congress are the ones that hold dual citizenship. You are American or you are the enemy of America. We are Americans not Italian American, not African American, not Israeli American so on and so on. I have a heritage that goes back to England and Scotland and I love that part of me but I am American first. If you are not American and proud then you need to go back to the country you identify with most because that is where your true loyalty is.
My wife keeps telling me to get dual citizenship with Poland. I keep telling her no man can serve 2 kings. I am American, and will die American. There is no plan B.
It is clinically insane that new immigrants have to swear an oath of allegiance to the US, forsaking all former allegiances...and we have fucking DOZENS of congresscritters who will not do it.
They are citizens of Israel first, America second (or last), and that's that.

No, this is not correct. The US does not make new immigrants give up their citizenship to their native country.
Some countries won't allow their citizens to retain their native citizenship if they gain citizenship in another country. Some do, though, like the US.
I don't know why so many people here don't know this. It's like Civics 101.
"U.S. law does not require a U.S. citizen to choose between U.S. citizenship and another (foreign) nationality (or nationalities). A U.S. citizen may naturalize in a foreign state without any risk to their U.S. citizenship."
"U.S. law does not impede its citizens' acquisition of foreign citizenship whether by birth, descent, naturalization or other form of acquisition, by imposing requirements of permission from U.S. courts or any governmental agency. If a foreign country's law permits parents to apply for citizenship on behalf of minor children, nothing in U.S. law impedes U.S. citizen parents from doing so.
You know Barron and Melania Trump hold dual citizenship with the US and Slovenia.
Does that pose a problem for you, that Donald Trump's wife and youngest son are enemies of America?
Edited to add:
Look at those downvotes. Now why would people be upset at this post? I'm not the one who said people of dual citizenship were enemies of America. And I'm certainly not responsible for Barron and Melania Trump having dual citizenship in America and Slovenia.
Is it a "shooting the messenger" issue? I think that must be it.
I'm wondering how long this post will stay up before someone goes crying to the babysitters because I hurt their feelings with facts.
The attitude shown here isn't only limited to those holding office.
Do you really think that the wife and son of the President of the United States can't sway the President on public matters? That they don't hold any influence?
I would think they hold just as much influence in shaping policy as others holding public office, if not more.
If a Democrat president's wife held dual citizenship with, say, Mexico or Israel, can you honestly say you wouldn't have an issue with that?
There is a requirement to hold office. Unless barred by the constitution or laws, all other familial ties and influences should be part of public discourse and the individual voters.
We can play the "What if" game all day but our President Trump was constitutionally elected. The 80+ congressmen and women with dual citizenships are illegal.
If you want to barr people from holding office because of familial ties, submit that bill into law, and just hope that it doesn't bar good Americans from office while criminals get away like always.
I like that you are critically thinking about President Trump's possible foreign influences but I can't help but believe that you are trying to sow doubt within our community. We can judge the worth of this man by all of his good deeds and that is many.
Slovenia has officially sided with Ukraine in this latest issue with Russia.
I, personally, don't have an issue with them having dual citizenship. I, personally, don't think that their ties with Slovenia, and thus with Ukraine, will influence anything Trump does as President.
People are misinterpreting my intentions here. I'm not trying to cast any doubt on anything Trump does.
I'm pointing out that people a) are forming very strong opinions when they are not well informed on the subject (which is a big no~no in my book, but who cares about that?) and b) are showing their hypocrisy in wanting to give Melania and Barron a free pass on the issue based on who they are.
They're saying that some people can't be loyal to the US based on being born in a foreign country or having dual citizenship, but others can (if it suits them).
If you think that the family of a President can't influence them, then I'd like to point out what's going on with POTATUS right now and what his son influenced him to do (or what he did for his son, however, you want to word it), and the consequences of it.
I'm sure if we had a Democrat president whose son and wife had dual citizenship with Mexico or Israel, the vast majority of the people here would be shitting themselves over it.
I'm saying a) know what you're talking about before calling people (including our First Lady and a damn fine young man) "enemies of America" and b) don't be a hypocrite.

"Pledge of allegiance" is just words to some people.
To the flag.
And the republic which the flag represents.
Do not pledge allegiance lightly.
Aligning yourself with the tangible, visible symbol of our Republic. Our nation.
To put our nation first.
They are words, yet those words hold significant meaning.
Of course. most of the US and local government is disqualified because they broke the pledge long time.
Like metallica sang, "you know it's sad but true".
foreign and domestic
Domestic is the worst
To Israeli citizens yea ofc. They want to destroy us.
Some say America is a free country 🤷🏿♂️
My wife keeps telling me to get dual citizenship with Poland. I keep telling her no man can serve 2 kings. I am American, and will die American. There is no plan B.
Yes, I think some frens are researching this dual citizenship issue in Congress.
As of 3 years ago, there were about 80 sitting congress with dual citizenship. 100% Constitutionally illegal to hold office yet still there.
It is with a single nation and nearly all "top" congress have it: i.e. Schumer, Schiff, Feinstein, Pelosi, etc.
Bonus points if you can tell me which nation..
It is clinically insane that new immigrants have to swear an oath of allegiance to the US, forsaking all former allegiances...and we have fucking DOZENS of congresscritters who will not do it.
They are citizens of Israel first, America second (or last), and that's that.
And now you know why it is taboo to speak any ill of Israel or jews.

The very one, yes.
well said.
