I used to think this idea was crazy. But I encountered a type of parasitic worm in a fish I was cleaning and looked up freshwater fish parasites. I learned that one type of worm that infects fish cause the fish to swim closer to the water's surface. This causes the fish to be eaten by a bird and the parasite can then finish it's lifecycle in a bird. I did not realize parasites can control a hosts behavior.

They are actual studies on this and it is well known or used to be, I never said ALL gay people were abused as kids but it has been shown in numerous studies that gay men reported being sexually assaulted at a young age by older males. I have plenty of gay friends, and most have confided in me that their first experience with another male was not by choice. I’m sure there are others that does not apply to. Years ago I worked with a known gay guy who later joined the police force (after I quit working there). Supposedly had met Elton John a lot, and was relatively wealthy and in his private life apparently super gay.
He eventually married another guy on the force who would let him put him in the gimp suit and tied up, ball and gag him and was using chloroform to sedate him - and would leave him locked up like that for all day while he worked or did whatever. He did this plenty of times until one day his husband died.
The police of course opened an investigation and he was in the news saying the police force only targeted him and his relationship because he was gay and if he was hetero he wouldn't be in trouble. He took his life a few weeks later before he could be charged.
