To be fair, strength has nothing to do with pool. I agree the whole trans athlete thing is ridiculous and men are generally taller, faster and stronger then women, that’s just how humans are. I’ve been playing pool 40 years and I’m not bad. My daughter has been playing pool since she was 2 and she’s 14 now and can beat me about half the time while talking and not paying attention to the game at all. She’s gifted. She can also shoot an arrow through an inch wide stick at 5m reliably. Some talents are not aided by gender.
Ask yourself this question, Why are there men's pool leagues and women's pool leagues IN THE FIRST PLACE?!?!?
to be fair it's ladies night
Talents are different.
Men are consistently better than women at visuospatial skills. Now practice supposedly helps with this.
Anecdotally I will tell you this. My wife can’t tell her left from her right without really thinking about it. (like holding up both hands where the left hand forms an “L”) She also doesn’t have the ability to rotate a map around in her head like I can. It makes me crazy. She has to either turn a physical map when the direction changes or have the computer do it. I just leave North as “up” and I do the mental gymnastics.
I think women are much better at noticing details and this has been tested. Thus men are really good at getting you somewhere and women are really good at noticing what is there when you get there and remembering what was there.
It’s great that your daughter is good, but shooting an arrow in a straight line, even with an arc, is not as mentally engaging as visualizing a pool shot requiring multiple bumpers and such. Can your daughter perform complicated bank shots with consistency? Can she do so against males? You may have some confirmation bias if you’re the only male she is playing.
I used to think pool should be like chess, genderless. (The reason there's men's and women's chess has nothing to do with biology; it's just that males so vastly outnumber females who play the game, no woman would be likely to ever win any tournament not restricted to other women only. The best female player isn't as good as the 10th best—or maybe the 100th best—male player.)
But then I gave it more thought regarding billiards, which has a similar dynamic as chess as far as relative participation by men and women; plus men are generally bigger, stronger, can break harder, and can reach more long shots without having to use the bridge.
I'm 5 tall female play pool against men and win all the time. I've never used a bridge in my life. And none of the men can shoot from behind their back as accurately as I can. Bigger isnt better modt times more is just that,...more.
Oh yeah? Well my dad can beat your dad in arm wrestling so what have you got to say about that hmm?
My dad works at Nintendo and he's going to tell your dad's boss!
So you condone men in dresses competing in competitions created for women only? Just clarifying.
Cool
All the pros use the bridge though :)
women are women's worst enemies.
If women want to play with men, play with them
If women want to play with only other women, great.
Then there's women like this cunt who say fuck other women who simply want a competition among only other women.
