Advertising is usually equal to or more than the actual film budget.
not only that, they only get a portion of the box office anyways, %50 if i remember correctly, so break even is usually going to be more than double the film cost to include the theaters' share.

Pedo director aside, apparently, the movie is actually a solid, good-quality movie that is competently written, is produced well, and have a sound marketing plan that, as far as I know, haven't gone out of its way to antagonise the fan base with woke BS. This translates into good word-of-mouth feedback that translates into great box-office returns. Definitely the last hurrah for the MCU.
That is why we should get into the arts (including cinema) and not surrender it to the Global-Pedo. Even if this current generation and the next will resist the cultural forces, the future generations might now, and we will fail our future frens if we don't fight fight back on the cultural front.

Lol, we need to get some chickens, though our dogs may stress them out. Our neighbor recently got some and it's driving our dog crazy chasing them back and forth along the fence. The other day, I saw them towards the front area of their backyard, and I thought... good y'all just stay over there for a bit while the dog was outside. No sooner than I thought that and turned away from the fence to walk away, the little stinkers came running to the fence where the dog was 🤦♀️ It's like the darn things wanted to come tease the dog.

Was it good as the first two movies? Definitely not, but it is definitely the best MCU offering in recent times, so it have that going for them.
Nowadays, the MCU and Disney brand is so damaged that it needs rehabilitation if any of their actual good movies want to have a chance at being successful at the box office.

Guardians 1@2 were truly remarkably fun movies. Great action, amazing music from the Golden Age of Rock'n Roll, funny humor, and really good character development. These were good stories, told in an intelligent manner, that made sense. People were entertained, they could relate to the characters, and enjoyed a movie (which is something truly rare in modern movies).
Guardians 3 was garbage. it was boring, and even the music was awful, with a span of 30 years of Rock and Roll, the Director could not pick 3 songs that could sell a movie sound track (hint: GotG Sound Tracks 1 and 2 sold VERY WELL). GotG 3 wasn't cute, it wasn't funny, it didn't make a lot of sense, it felt artifical, forced and just another shake of the money tree - and it failed.
People went to it, for the simple reason that they held out hope that what was such fantastic fun, with GotG 1 and 2, would happen a 3rd time. It was bitter disappontment.
Disagree - it was one of the few movies that the second sequel held up, IMO. There were definitely some woke talking points, but as far as entertainment has been going it was understated.
And that's fine, we are all entitled to our opinions. However, I do have to snicker a bit every time I hear Glen Cambell's "Southern Nights". Having read a few of the GotG comics when I was much younger, I didn't expect much from the movies. I was pleasantly surprised by the first 2.
The third was a disappointment.
