23andMe Admits Major Data Breach as Hackers Access Ancestry Information of Millions
Genetic testing giant 23andMe has admitted in a SEC filing that it has suffered a massive breach that has exposed the ancestry information of millions of customers utilizing the DNA Relatives feature.
Gee.... never would have seen that "data breach" coming... 😏
The whole company is one large “data breach”.
Exactly...No surprise there..
That way, if the 23-&-me data shows up at all the domestic and foreign bioweapon labs, they can claim it was stolen in the breach vs sold willingly to these labs.
SEC filing? Good - they’re on record claiming innocence so if the WHs find and disclose any communications showing that 23-&-me willfully transferred that data for a payoff, perhaps even colluded with the eugenicist cabal, their tribunals can be short and decisive. I’m assuming here that “We have it all” and “We caught them all” means ALL - every last individual that colluded to harm innocent people and commit global genocide.
Who knows? Perhaps the fact that one of the founders, Anne Wojicki, was married to a Google cofounder, Sergey Brin, is just a coinkydink and 23-&-me is just a nice, wholesome business.
They don't sequence your entire genome. They have no guarantee that the submitted information matches the submitted genetic sample. They don't have data that's particularly worthwhile.
Quest laboratories, on the other hand...
Yeah, 'breach'
More like payed for access.
Good thing I gave all those DNA companies my dogs dna. Hope whomever stole it will make great use of those wonky strings. Oh yea, if you think I used my bank CC to pay the freight, guess again. I used a pay once card from Dollar General.
Sooooo.... What did the results say?
It was a ruff decision but OP did what he had to do
😆
Yes, I want to know too.🐶
My Polish-Italian buddy sent in his results and he was pissed when they came back and said he was 1% Jewish. His mom is from Sicily and Dad was from the Polish Russian border.
I assumed it was 23 & Me's way of forcing people to have some compassion for their the Jewish "Heritage" to politically game folks.
More than one of those DNA testing outfits was busted for intentionally adding in results that were never there.
Giving a 100% white person just a few percentages of Black ancestry, just for the woke points.
I didn't know there were Jewish genes? Could they be Khazarian?
Don't know. I waved the envelope with the results in front of my of my dog and it grabbed the envelope and tore it to pieces. Sad, but I figured it would show Chinese heritage since my dog is a Pekinese. Haha
😁
Guess what. You're compromised even if you haven't submitted yours DNA, because you 5 second cousins that have submitted theirs.
Yes. I was very upset with my late father when he told me he sent his DNA in. Obviously that will include myself and my siblings and their offspring.
He meant no harm and had a keen interest in out family tree. It was hard to blame him. If we were in a more perfect world, this could have been cool. But alas, we are not.
IMO every time these companies " get hacked " or have " security breaches " it's just covering up their illegal sales of customer info.
My children have tried for years to get me to do one of these and I’m like, “ Hell no! It’s just a giant government data gathering base!” I’ve always thought what if they used your DNA in a crime? Just a big hell no for me!
It is not a breach when you sell the information. Jus sayin.
We're hosed - all before we knew better.....
Every time I would hear of someone I knew participating in this, I would just shake my head and smile. I don’t try talking sense to anyone anymore. I don’t believe it accomplishes anything.
Surprise, surprise, who would have thought it.
