Hello Everyone, I just got back from checking out my local book store. Did you know they have a section of gay and lesbiean book shelves. Its labeled young readers and ckeverly mixed with what was called urban supernatural. What surprised me is the shear volume of authors and books for this lifestyle. About 50 feet of shelving, Its clearly labeled and marketed twords young people. Also were the people working their. Blue, green and pink hair are the primary colors of the staff, and the checkout girl? She was styled as a man, looks like a man but sounds like a woman? I had no idea what i was dealing with. The WOKE, is here and its sad, I remember how beautiful the atmosphere used to be. But now I don't recognize the store i use to love. Its become the new Starbucks, very disturbing. See you later I will be taking my children elsewhere.

Don't ever call Barns and Noble a "local book store". That's like calling Walmart the local bakery. They're a massive, woke corporation that will gladly pander to the .000001% over actual customers.
You're absolutely right. I let my annual membership to there lapse a few years ago, and I have not been back since.
In this case though, it's important to remember that B&N and others like them (even public libraries, sad to say) are simply the visible end of the supply chain. In almost all cases, these entities are not the suppliers of this crap. Without publishers who recruit authors & illustrators (via agents) these """Diverse"""" books would not exist. See something you find offensive? Look on the book spine or the first few pages to see who published it. Sometimes it's a smaller imprint of a larger publishing house. This is the root of the rot, the source of the slime. Do not forget these entities in your boycotting efforts. You'd be amazed how broad they are. Speak to your networks, get the word out. We need to do to these publishing houses what we're already doing to entities like the NY Slimes & the Washington ComPost.

Sometimes I think instead of contributing to political causes we should start an America First venture capital fund. If my math is correct a $100 investment by every 2020 Trump voter would create a fund of $7.5 billion to invest in non-woke American businesses.
The challenge would be to help these businesses establish a profitable business model that enables them to repay the investment and then pay it forward to fund more America First start ups.
I’m more inclined to invest in good paying manufacturing businesses, but retail businesses with cultural impact would have to be part of the portfolio.

I'm not sure a governing body could be found and trusted... so, maybe a first step would be to ramp up the need for conservatives to shop only at conservative stores, like OP is planning to do (leave the woke store behind). Go woke, go broke--that is a real thing, but imagine it as a proactive force rather than reactive. I think what would happen would be the startup of new businesses because entrepreneurs would see that the conservative customer base has formalized, rown, and gathered focused momentum.
Then, equity firms and other financing groups like the one you're suggesting would come to fruition (and would probably be happening in parallel).
We would create a parallel economy that would eventually replace the crap we have now.

Sometimes I think about reverse infiltration too. Just have gobs of patriots start working at these stores and trash the narrative, refuse DEI training, sue for discrimination, etc. I am tired of them running us off.
Now THAT is a great strategy.

Abesbooks.com is where I like to get my reading material. They have older books at very good prices. I cringed the last time I went into a brick and mortar book store, cause it was just like you stated, purple haird, pincushioned lip ugly wanna-be behind the counter. I left and haven't been back since.
I LOVE to go to the bookstore, sit in the cafe, and read books. The ONLY bookstore around anymore is B&N. I never buy anything, but I use their space. It is exactly here as it is where you are... there's even a teenage boy who wears skirts with fishnet stockings. I swear, when boys dress up like what they think "girls" dress up as, they assume we are all hussies. The employees are all wearing masks also. It's ridiculous.
I bring my older kids with me, and I OK all their books. They are all aware of agendas, so they will bring me a book to make sure it's OK before the read it, or they'll come back and all laugh over the agendas they saw around the store. We laugh at the blue hairs. There's a guy who seems to be always there, and when he goes to the cafe he asks for their cleaning spray and a towel. He washes his table for easily 5 minutes.
Honestly, I would say we should stay away, however it's a safe cultural immersion like no other. We don't go anywhere else where there is so many hair colors, agendas, flashing rainbows, and cross dressing. So I appreciate their idiot-ness so my kids and I can have a discussion and a good laugh. We have learned a lot about satan and his minions at the B&N here, and it costs us nothing but some of our time.

Don't try to heap all the blame on the bookstores -- the American publishing industry itself has some fairly heavy leanings in those directions. Here's a random sampling of what many literary agents are seeking:

Keep in mind also that the bulk of American publishing is in New York City.

I posted a pic of this very thing a few weeks ago of the Lynwood, Wa B&N and yes, and all the staff had the toxic frog color hair.
pfft, not surprising...the barnes and noble in Cedar rapids had a starbucks built into the store...keep in mind it's been (at least) eighteen years since I've been in that particular store, though, so :shrug:
