"The court denied without comment special counsel Jack Smith’s request asking the justices to circumvent the normal appeals court process and quickly decide the question, which looms large in Trump’s prosecution in Washington over allegations of election interference."
He was President. He was impeached. He was not convicted in the Senate. Period.
Jack Smith can go pound sand. In his sand box.
He finally got a smack across his ugly face....hopefully more in the future!
Have you seen his face? This wasn't the first smack...
I heard that he is going to the senate briefing room for his pounding.
Are your sure he hasn't already been there, done that? HA!
He's gonna get pounded alright.
Gonna be a packed shithouse.
Hunter snuck into DC for the occasion.
u/#correct
lower case "u"
ThanQ!
Can someone explain to a dumb dumb like me why this is a win? Wouldn't it be when for it to be expedited and the court ruling in favor of Trump?
Prosecutor bypassed the appellate court. Supremes are court of last resort. My guess.
Im reading it like they are denying Trumps immunity claim
No they are kicking it back. They won't be bothered with it, just now.
Smith wanted to skip the Circuit Court and go directly to SCOTUS to save time, and avoid two appeals from Trump assuming he loses.
Smith wants Trump's trial to start the day before Super Tuesday, knowing Trump will need to be campaigning all over the place. Once the trial starts Trump will actually have to be there in court, unlike the New York scam trial. That would severely hamper Trumps campaigning in the primaries and very well could effect the elections.
election interference is obvious
My guess is none of the cases can proceed until this case eventually makes it to SCOTUS. Which could put the trials until after the 2024 election. But yeah, I would think him being immune would be better. Maybe as long as the cases are pending, his support will continue to be high?
Tim pool made a good point last night on IRL that Jack was never appointed Special Counsel. He's literally just some guy AKA a private citizen and practically a vigilante, going after Trump and the media just said he was SC. But he has no real Constitutional authority at all.
I wonder if that's how Trump gets out of all this after he's convicted. I.e. Q lets Trump be jailed to wake people up as to how far they will go and then get him out by exposing how Jack was never constitutionally and officially authorised to do all this in the first place so it all collapses?
"Jack was never constitutionally and officially authorised to do all this in the first place so it all collapses"
That is my take, like as We Are Watching a Movie. ?
i guess
Agreed
