I hereby propose a "Legislative tax" on politicians that charges any politician $50,000 for introducing or voting for any new or increased tax -- plus 1% of the total projected take from that tax annually.
The bill would also give a tax CREDIT of $50,000 to any politician who introduces or votes for any major tax reduction (to be defined in the small print) that actually passes and goes into effect.
(This line added as a last-ditch attempt to fix a formatting error that won't go away)
How about if they pay for the entire tax increase out of their own personal income and wealth? And if they can't pay, they and their families pay 90% of their income until the bill is paid.

Happening in Nevada: They started a pet registry for apartment renters. If you want to rent certain apartments, they want to know if you have a pet, how big and what kind. Then they want to raise your deposit AND pay extra rent for the pet.

The fee structure incentivizes people to register a caregiver for their pet with the state. The pet will be placed with the caregiver in the event the owner incapacitated. Are they expecting a lot incapacitated pet owners?
It seems that across the country they are squeezing every possible demographic. City people with mass illegals, pet owners with a proposed tax like this, natural gas stove owners/users with the banning of gas stoves, banning of collection of rainwater (years ago). It's like this is part of the plan to wake up different segments of the populace. There are more examples but can't think of them right off the bat.

In Pa you are to register your dogs. You can’t put them in a kennel without it because they randomly go to the kennels and check and get fined if your dog isn’t registered. I think that costs about $8.50/dog. This is definitely worse because it’s costly potentially. It always pisses me off that I have to register them.
