For those unaware?
About 5 years ago, got burnt out at my professional job and started ubering.
Love it, but please tip safe drivers. They are not delivering food to a table.
They are risking their life and greatest asset for most (their car) to get you to your destination.
A tale of two people in need
First one was a woman at the QT gas station. I stopped to fill up. She approached me and said her thermostat went out and needed to get a new one at autozone.
She had sad face and looked very distressed.
Seen this play so many times. 53 years old and it is very common at the gas pumps late at night.
Told her, no "cannot help her".
She put her hands on her head and gave a convincing "woe is me" back into the car.
Car stood still until i went into the QT.
I did my business then came back out and got in car.
That girl? The one with broken car?
She was circling the QT parking lot as a passenger with the most pissed off look on her face.
As she passed in front of me, i could see a huge bald spot on the back of her head.
Please bare with me. This was not the mark of a cancer person or maybe it was.
It was a marker of someone that was not a good person. Hard to explain.
Saw it and immediately felt it.
Pure evil.
Two hours later, i meet Christopher. A black homeless guy with a blanket wrapped around his body asking if i can help out.
This is off Lancaster street in fort worth.
He says, im a Navy Vet that got booted from the military for something i did and went to prison.
He further said, going through a rough patch.
I asked him, " what is your mos"
He replied back, a very impressive skill set of duties he did in the Navy.
Then he says, were you Army? No, i replied, just a lot of my family served in Army.
He then said "mos is skill set for army. In navy it is rates."
This guy in a blanket.
I was looking him in the eye and it was opposite of the evil i saw earlier from that girl scamming the people at gas pumps.
i told him there was a bad storm coming in and did he have shelter.
He replied, "thank you for saying that. Had no idea a front was coming through. Have no phone."
Well, i asked him after giving my 5 one dollar bills and about 2 dollars in change, if there was anything else i could do?
He said someone else gave him food earlier and i just gave him some cash.
Nothing else he needs other than blessing.
Asked him if he was good at numbers. He chuckled and said yes. His rates was radar and other technical.
Told him, gonna take you to QT. Same QT as evil lady.
Your spending limit is 30, but ok to get close to 40.
At the end, shook his hand and thanked him for his service.
He said, "it has been so many years since someone like you, shook my hand."
My reply?
"God Bless you, Christopher. Storm is about to hit. Hunker down and hope to see you again."
Thank you on behalf of the civilized world.ππ»
The homeless woman woudlnt know a thermostat from her elbow.
Good for you helping a real one.
Why? I do. Just because someone homeless now doesn't mean they havent lived before. Like the military man in the story. Necessity brings much in education.
Fair enough. But if youre in a situation like this dealing with dubious strangers, referring to age-old stereotypes can save lots of time/pain.
Its awesome that you could do it.
"homeless"
It can be tough weeding them out. You're a good person.
Great article. You should write in your spare time.
The Lord gives us discernment , it is a gift of the Holy Spirit, it's what is commonly known as "feeling it in the gut". Hair puling is why she had a bald spot, meth does that. What you saw as evil was the possesion of the soul that happens with addicts, the devil slips right in and takes over. That's the wisdom of 12 step programs, addiction is a spiritual problem, not a social problem. Everytime we refuse to hand out drug money to someone, it pushes them toward hitting their bottom, which is a good thing, seems to be the only thing that brings them to recovery, and sometimes it sticks, but they have to accept God.
I agree completely.
I have been approached many times by someone asking for a handout and sometimes you can just feel the evil oozing from someone and ther times you can just feel something telling you to help this person.
Must be the holy spirit guiding me along.
So fascinating. I would argue a lot of people disagree, but your thought is solid.
It aligns with what is witnessed on the street.
Bless you and the Navy vet...
He was a good man. Just broken. A lot of those out there in my estimation.
Spent over 2 hours just talking to him.
A GOOD MAN!
Praying for him and God bless you both! ππ
Both individuals had a run in with the Heart of Jesus Christ last night. God bless you for doing His work!
π’π’π’ God bless you and Christopher.
I drove past a very old woman who had been on a street corner begging for money. She was off in the grass eating something and a group of three young teens walked past her on the sidewalk. They stopped, turned around and walked back to give her some money. They seen that she was truly a person in need and not a lazy scammer. Made my eyes water up a bit when I seen this. There is hope for humanity.
I used to always try to help people in need and give to charity. I got burned so many times though that I have almost stopped entirely. Thank you for still having faith in humanity
I got burned a couple times really bad, but the ones that went well far out number those. They are people and not all are on drugs, many end up that way to cope. I walked by one woman and she was sitting and laughing at thing that were going on. I couldn't help but smile as I walked by and looked her in the eye. She stopped laughing just long enough to give me a wink and a smile, then I laughed. What I saw in her eyes was not crazy at all, but love. She was safe there looking crazy, people are afraid of crazy people.
You and people like you are the reason, we are to have faith in humanity. God bless you.
Itβs interesting how you can tell the difference between people immediately. Thank you for helping out that man. Not only did you give him something to eat, but you gave him his dignity back πππ
Movingβ¦.thanks for sharingπ―β€οΈ. God bless.
Sometimes just sitting and talking with a person can lift their day so much. Listening to what they have to say, what ever they might have on their mind.
I set with one guy because I had to go out to smoke. I set on the curb about 4 or 5 feet from him lit a smoke and offered him one. We set and smoked until I looked up and saw the cris-cross of chemtrails and got pissed. He started talking about them too and was saying he was glad he smokes because otherwise he wouldn't bee able to breath tomorrow, I said me too. From there we got talking about all kinds of hidden science stuff that I had also seen on the internet.
He knew about all of the what the elite call fringe science, I have been studying the same. This guy was very intelligent and only acted like a crazy but nice drunk when other people came around. He told me that being crazy was the best way to stay safe, you are not a threat because no one will believe you.
Living on the streets as a Desert Storm vet must be really hard. I am a Desert Storm vet and probably one of the younger ones. I figure the youngest would be around 50 - I'm just a couple years older. I know I couldn't do it with all the back and knee problems that start popping up around that age. That life would suck bad.
Blessings to you for your generosity! Yes, gut feelings play a huge part in my decision to help or not.
Thermostats rank from easy to a mother fucker to change.... Navy dude say he was an ET? I was an IC, think a few years back the navy got rid of our cool rates for numbers.......
He was E4.
Bare with me??? No thanks.
I did something similar the other day. A guy kept calling my business line asking for a rehab center and mumbling stuff. Kept saying this was the number they gave him. Assumed he was just released from jail and trying to get rehab help. I figured out that he transposed numbers in the area code so I called him back and gave him the right number. Maybe it helped. Dunno.
That was a good thing, brother. Small things like that make a big difference.
Thanks. I'm sure I'll get calls for that rehab in OH which is one number off from my area code. Smoking an AJ Fernandez Broadleaf Enclave ATM.
Care to say anything more about this bald spot? You saw it and the Holy Spirit confirmed it as a marker of evil basically? What color clothes was she wearing?
She was wearing a white hoodie and blue jeans.
When I noticed the bald spot, it looked like she had horns. Like the devil.
As an enthusiast photographer, realized it was just a play of the light, but did make me feel like it was a sign.
I originally wrote this for posterity of the moment. Would love to rewrite it at a later date properly.
Couple of things not mentioned, but thought are important.
When I drove Christopher to the QT, he was very tense. Like, in a strangers car, 'tense',
I reminded him, you approached me. Relax.
When we got to the QT at Henderson and Lancaster in Fort Worth, I was very aware he would not be welcome.
This is their flagship store in Texas. They do not allow any homeless inside.
At this QT, they have a level 4 security guard. They are legit security in Texas. They carry firearms and so on.
Mad respect for them.
Immediately upon entry, the guard tells Christopher to leave. I was trailing too far behind and as walking in, Christopher is walking back out.
Told him, go back in. I will talk to security.
All I said to the officer was, he is with me.
That was end of it.
Such a looking glass, though.
