Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I’ve been fighting a common cold since 2/27. Runny nose, a nice productive cough and fatigue. Not much, if any, of fever and no other flu-like symptoms. I got a delivery today of two tubes of Duramectin. I was able to get it overnight and it’s a product I’ve used a couple of times before so I have the dosage already worked out. It’s the apple-flavored equine stuff in the syringe-like tube. There is a latching slider on the plunger conveniently marked off in 250 pound dose equivalents.
At about 4PM EST 3 Mar 2024 I got my first dose in. It’s been close to eight hours so nothing remarkable yet. I’ll probably dose closer to noon ongoing.
If for no other reason, I could probably use a good worming but I’m hoping to shorten this thing. I’ll let you know.
Laken Riley death.. hmm

Why: After its closing in 2002 due to pollution, Lake Herrick is finally reopened for recreational, experiential learning and research.
What to expect: Guests at the ceremony will be able to view the lake and walk through the restored landscape and renovated pavilion.
After 16 years of being closed to swimming and boating due to pollution, Lake Herrick behind the University of Georgia intramural fields is reopening Oct. 17.
Lake Herrick was opened in 1982 but later closed in 2002 from fecal coliform bacteria — an indicator bacteria that suggests water contamination from fecal matter. However, revitalization efforts began fall 2017 with goals to reopen the lake to offer recreational, experiential learning and research opportunities.
Now the time has come to reopen the lake more than a decade after its closing. The reopening ceremony will be at 2 p.m.
“This project demonstrates UGA’s commitment to steward natural resources and advance campus sustainability,” said Kevin Kirsche, UGA’s Office of Sustainability director.
The Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources has managed the lake and property behind it for the last 35 years, according to dean of the college Dale Greene. The college and its land and facilities manager, Mike Hunter, have overseen the sediment collection pond, which was dug out and expanded to catch sediment upstream of Lake Herrick and keep the sediment from entering the lake.
Pollution was a large factor in closing down the lake, but now, "we’re at a point where we think we can safeguard those who use the lake,” said Todd Rasmussen, hydrology and water resources professor who works closely with Watershed UGA to monitor water quality.
Rasmussen said the water quality of the lake must be monitored to avoid pollution in the future.
Kirsche said UGA plans to form a subcommittee to review and assess current water conditions and to identify strategies as needed to enhance water quality.
“Future phases of construction are envisioned to continue to manage storm water effectively, and engagement efforts are being planned to enhance the health of streams entering Lake Herrick,” Kirsche said.
It is Kirsche’s “secret hope” that “members of the UGA and local community will fall further in love with this place and will continue to protect and restore this and other natural treasures.”
Although motorized vehicles are not allowed, kayaking and stand-up paddling are viable options, Kirsche said.
First arriving to UGA 25 years ago, Rasmussen was able to enjoy Lake Herrick when it was still open. It “was a great resource,” Rasmussen said. “It’s sad they had to close it, but now that they’re reopening it’ll make a great place.”
He hopes to teach classes at the pavilion located there.
Guests at the ceremony will be able to view the lake and walk through the restored landscape and renovated pavilion.

Was behind Lake Herrick in Athen GA. Her name us Laken! I looked this up real quick.
Oh, reopen on 10-17 you say!
Question, has anyone noticed that beef doesn’t taste right anymore? It’s like it’s flavorless, I love a good burger or steak and for the last three or four months I haven’t been able to find any meat worth eating. My wife just made a meatloaf…. Awful, hamburgers a couple of weeks ago; threw most of them away. The texture and smell isn’t even right, I hope it’s not this MRNA crap. Come to think of it I guess that MRNA meat would be hitting the market right about now given the time it takes to bring cattle to market. There even seems to be the faintest hint of a sickly smell and taste to the meat that is offensive. I’m not even looking forward to eating this crap.
This isn’t surprising. We don’t know what they are adding to food and animals raised for food are getting hormones and vaccines Try to find a local farmer selling beef. You will need to invest in a freezer but it’s worth it. It’s sold 1/4, 1/2 and whole cow. You pay by pound by the hanging weight before they cut it up. Local farmers market may be a good source. It’s a big investment at first but nice to know you don’t have to shop for meat. We got 1/4 last year and I can’t believe how good it is. I don’t eat beef out anymore because no restaurant has beef as good as what we have.
We got some fantastic steaks recently and wife cooked them up real tasty. No complaints!
Hmm, maybe it’s time to get to the butcher shop instead of the grocer.
Yeah, most supermarket beef sucks. Only one local grassfed is okay, but good butcher is the way to go.
I haven’t had any beef in a while. I can do without it if I have to. I don’t want to but I will.
COMMENT #352 IN THE DEW THREAD, WHERE'S MY PRIZE???
The DEW topic is INSANE. Perfect example of a successful psyop-injection within a counter-psyop.
Is it just me, or does it seem like the news (fake) and fox is setting up a situation that is foreshadowing something happening to Trump before the election?
Dr. Patricia Crouse on Fox Live Now is saying that Trump will dominate for a bit, but that N. Helly will come close in some primaries. Also that we should not rely on the polls (duh).
Also, Julie Green Ministries and Ark of Grace Ministries keep saying, "Great deception will lead some of My people astray. Do not look to a man to save you. Do not put them on a pedestal to be your savior when I have (already) done that for you. There is only one Savior, and there is only one Most High God. Too many people have been looking to a man."
I am about 95 percent sure that God is not talking to them, but I do know that they have got to be part of the movie.
I hate all of this wondering and waiting.
I just would like yalls opinion.
Thanks
I do believe they getting ready to set the narrative for an assassination attempt, but we know how it will really go down. I truly believe that God is speaking through these ladies. But it’s true, God uses people to carry out his plans, and we are not to worship them but give God the praise for what he does. Men are a tool. No one is above God, and depending on our prayers and requests made known to him, will determine what he decides to bring to pass for our country. The decision is ultimately HIS. HE is a loving Father, and wants to give us the desires of our heart. But what are we willing to do for him. It works both ways. It’s pretty selfish to ask HIM to save our country from hell on earth and still live like the devil. All HE ask is that we live for HIM, and love one another. I believe that WE are the key to which way this goes, what are WE willing to sacrifice for HIM.
Thank you for this! This is one of the best answers to anything I have ever read. I love to listen to both of these ladies and have been for over 6 years. I guess I am so tired of being lied to. I know we all are. I also know that whatever happens, GOD has us right in his hands.
WOW! I just read your answer again, and I am totally in awe.
Thank you so much for putting things in the right perspective.
Oh gosh! I’m just now getting to read this. It’s been a long day. I’m thinking to myself as I am reading this, what did I say. I’m going to have to go back and read it again myself. I don’t respond to things a lot unless I feel a strong urge to do so. Since I can’t remember it had to be God. I had an incident happen before and afterwards I couldn’t remember a word I said. I had gone in for a repeat mammogram, and I complained all the way in that it was a racket to steal more money from me. See, it was after Covid and I was convinced they were doing this to make more money. My insurance was not going to pay anything for a repeat, and I had heard from other women they were having to go back too. I took a seat beside a sweet lady and we started chatting, and she told me that she had beat breast cancer once and was there for a repeat as well. She had also recently lost her soon over seas serving our country. My heart just sank. She was called back and said so nice to talk to you as she walked away. Before I was called back she came back out and was told to wait in one of the little rooms to be seen again. She was crying. They called me back and did my deal again and said everything was fine. As I walked by her little room and saw her crying, I stepped in and asked if she was alright. She said they think my cancer is back. I bowed on my knees in front of her and took her hand and asked could I pray. She said yes please do. She said I’ve had all my vaccines, and I thought oh dear Lord, that’s what’s wrong with her. I didn’t tell her I did not have any such thing I just said it’s ok. I have no earthly idea what my prayer was. I couldn’t remember a single word when I got back to my car. I just sat there staring out the window. Then I heard a voice say “ today was never about you, it was for her”. Here I pitched a fit about a repeat mammogram, and spending a couple hundred dollars, and it was nothing compared to her pain. Every single day since I pray each day that the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart are pleasing unto him. Thank you for your kind words, and we are going to win this. God is about to show out, so to speak. 🇺🇸❤️🙏🏻
Different narratives are seeded by their controllers. Many controllers have the same goal up to a certain point, but after we cross that point they will all start showing their true colors. These are the "controlled opposition".
My guess is that once it becomes clear to everyone that Biden is out of the race and there is no viable replacement (or the replacements are out as well), we will see the factions within the conservative side start breaking apart.
The closer we get to the end the crazier it gets. Stop trusting any pundits / influencers etc and trust only what you can observe and analyze and your instincts and your own connection to God.
This is why I appreciate this board so much. Thank you for your words.
You cannot raise your children as your parents raised you, because your parents raised you in a world that no longer exists.
Saw that on a meme post. My generation and those previous generations are the last ones that grew up in a world without cell phones, internet, social media and everything bad that comes with that. We may be in a different era but we can still teach children manners, how to be respectful of others and discipline. You can raise your children with love even if you weren’t raised with love. Teach them how to do things! If you don’t know how to cook, garden, work with tools, etc learn and teach them. Learning life skills is so important.
I think this is part of the Communist propaganda where they want children to belong to the State and not to the parents.
I agree with your view on this. Each parent should raise their kids to the best of their abilities, as honestly as they can to their own belief system. The focus should be on showing them love and teaching them fundamental skills.
Thats how you will have a resilient system without a single point of failure.
Anybody have info about preventing or curing RSV ? I have a 3 yr old nephew in the hospital who is not getting better and the doctors a telling the parents they may have to put him in a coma & ventilate. Sounds like what they did with covid ?
Start here: https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/rsv-vaccine-pharma-agenda-chd-brian-hooker-meryl-nass/
Also search for RSV on that site. This is the site run by RFK Jr and while it primarily focuses one exposing vaccines, it also provides other good information as well.
Thank you my friend.
Praying for your nephew. Please keep us posted here and share your further findings.
Well them prayers worked fast. Today the little guy is up walking around the hospital. Thank you all for your prayers.

Somebody brought up the topic of Christianity in Japan a while back. Here is a video on why Japanese people are averse to religion. It's been used as a means of controlling the masses, whether it was Buddhism in the ancient past to manipulate people, the way the Spaniards used Catholicism to try to manipulate people, or how Shinto was used to lead Japan into war which caused two atomic bombs to be dropped.

“I have heard deathbed confessions from people many times. In their confessions, they are never concerned about money, any unearned millions, about luxurious houses, or troubles in business. People in their last hours are worrying first of all about a lack of good deeds: helping neighbors, support for loved ones, relatives, even random acquaintances. And the second thing that torments almost everyone before death is how little attention was paid to children...”

Interesting video on the popularity of "dumbphones" (flip phones) catching on among people concerned about their mental health. CNBC doing decent journalism.

Looks like someone accidentally unstickied it!

Was watching a video on my new distiller today. Guy quoted Nikola Tesla about water. I found the full context:
It may have been the time period in which he said this, where drinking water wasn't as sterile today, but, I do not trust that the govt made sure our water was more sterile. In fact, they added fluoride, because, of course, they care so much about our health of our teeth. Does anyone really believe that anymore? The whole corrupt system is about keeping us in a perpetual state of disease where they provide the "cure" via endless Rx drugs and expensive medical procedures.
One thing the youtube guy said was Hitler put fluoride in the water for the Jews in the concentration camps so that it would make them docile. I'm not sure if that is accurate, I haven't done enough thorough research on that.
Dang, I was hoping me drinking distilled water would give me super powers :)

Amen.
Sadly, they sound kind of cowardly, which might be one reason we got into this mess. Glad they don't have much longer to deal with this, rather than trying to find a solution for their kids and grandkids generations.
