Fasting has been healing mankind [since] Adam and Eve..
True. For most our existence, fasting has been as common as sleeping.
A constant ready supply of food, where that exists, is a relatively recent phenomenon. Primitive humans had to go many hours between meals out of necessity and still do in many cultures today. Success in hunting and gathering is far from a given.
Nowadays, it takes a towering, heaving effort of the will for the typical person in an industrial nation to fast, because food is always available.
Oh ffs, I have been doing it for years, last check and echocardiogram and ekg, my heart is probably the healthiest thing I have, at almost 74 now. Mammals are built for this, meat eating animals especially, we are mammals, our systems are basically the same. For years now low calories for older people are beneficial, leading to a longer life. I guess snack food companies are feeling the crunch as more people wake up to healthier lifestyles. The 3 meals a day regimen was based on the processed food industry, had to make money on all the" "food" the industry was producing. Fasting is biblical and the first go to if you are suffering from a chronic complaint, unless of course you are diabetic or have wonky blood sugar issues.
I consider OMAD, developed and popularized by Elijah Muhammad, to be "The Terrorist Diet." I'm not actually joking. He's an awful person. I once accidentally triggered a first (and last lol) date once by casually calling it that. "Wouldn't he be insulted?" "Naw. He's pretty much a Nazi Simping Wahhabist fundamentalist who praised the death of Malcom X." Watching the gears creak when someone's hair dye addled brain barnacles jam up is hilarious.
Yep, Anons are awesome like that! Welcome to GAW btw. If you want to make a post about how you found your way here, we would be interested to hear. (Make sure you tag me, so I can approve it as you are still a new user)
Intermittent Fasting has been the NORMAL state of mankind, until very recently. This is how we are designed, and why a vast majority of people are morbidly obese; we are civilized man, eat far more calories than we need.
Not to mention that most of what we eat, is full of sugar, carbohydrates and is generally really bad for us.
I found eating low carb is automatically fasting intermittently every day; you have zero hunger for 5-6 hours after a meal anyway, and fast 12+ hours from after dinner til breakfast
Low carb is natural for humans too - animals are full of healthy saturated fat, protein and vitamins and almost no carbs - kill, eat, sleep, fast, live
Absolutely agree, still have a ways to go; but 318 lbs is unhealthy for anyone; down to 225 and a bit more to go. Keto takes a bit of getting used to; but once you get your system back in balance, it's amazing how much better you feel; and how much your hunger subsides.
Going from constantly craving food, to not finishing your meal at a restaurant - and not feeling guilty about pushing a plate away; is very liberating.
Imagine a list of all the things that cause blood clots, strokes, heart attacks, myocarditis, and sudden death...
...that muh "science" has somehow, for SOME REASON, only discovered since 2020!!!
My personal fave: global warming heating the blood, making it clot! Because humans aren't mammals and thus homeothermic (with constant internal temperature!!! :)
Dr. Berg is one of my favorite "Sarcastic Scientologists." While I do think his religion is pretty iffy, I do find his videos and advice to be pretty solid.
Intermittent fasting is a tool to help your body heal. Boy, they sure do try to keep helpful information to getting to the masses. Many doctors have youtube videos explaining how to fast, how long, what to and not to do.
Fasting has been healing mankind sense Adam and Eve..
TBF this youtuber is saying the reports/data are bogus and that fasting does not increase your chances for a heart attack.

Do a little research on the "study" involved in this claim. It's ridiculous.

Fasting is as easy as giving up cigarettes. So easy in fact that I have given up smoking five times already just today!
IF is being hardcore pushed on FB, ads have tables stating how and when to fast based on age.
Next to IF is OMAD or One Meal A Day, anyone have info on that?

Interesting, I just watched Malcolm X movie the other day, learning about Elijah Muhammed for the first time
If you do IF AND keep your blinds open, you are already dead. Sorry, cant hear you, science says you are already dead.
What do you mean by 'blinds open'

But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting. Matthew 17:21
Most powerful line in the bible about how to turn from Satan. They don't want you to know or practice this.
Interesting to note that several Bible translations just skip this particular verse, including NASV, ASV, ERV.

I love Dr Berg!!!
He is not into Scientology is he?
Yikes!

"scientists"
'Nuff said.

Everything the media posts is the exact opposite! This AHA promoted study doesn’t say if it was peer reviewed.
