This is pharmaceutical in origin. Nobody every questions anti-depression drugs. They turn off the part of the brain responsible for "concern" and "shame", and make it into "I don't care." Track the rise of anti-depressants and the graph line for child sexual abuse is right there with it.
People crack and fracture in different ways when their own lives are becoming unbearable. Self mutilations, escapism in substance abuse, violence against family members. Fight or flight is one part of the broken family survival instinct, aggression and having to 'grow up fast' in males, hyper-promiscuity in females. That's probably a large part of why there was a baby boom at the end of ww2.
Which isn't to say I'm absolving these nasty women of guilt or agency, far from it. But this is what happens when a society breaks down.
the baby boom of the late 1940s may have had several causes, but I'm pretty sure some things that helped were (a) good benefits for veterans that gave families some financial security, (b) national debit and inflation were still in control, so dad's paycheck could cover most if not all family expenses, and (c) moms were willing to stay home and raise the kids, not dreaming of some lofty corporate position.
The 'we are the victor' psyche-boost and celebrations were likely a big thing that got people in the mood for marriages and babies as well. b) and c) compared to today are worlds apart, but compared to anything post great-depression things probably held up pretty well in the 40s.
$1T debt every 3 months is not normal.. but back then, it would have had every able-bodied citizen marching on DC to burn it and slay every thieving government staffer they could find.
According to both of my grandfathers (WW2 and Korea vets) the men wanted to get the fuck home and begin life and start/continue their families after seeing so much death- and destruction.
When I was twelve years old, one of my friends explained the Baby Boom this way: "The horny soldiers came home from the War, and fucked their wives night and day."
This is from blowing up families 50-60 years ago. You now have woman growing up without their father. Then they themselves have multiple children with no fathers around.
What you end up with is 35 year old women thinking they're 16 and "cool" instead of acting like parents. Hanging out with their 16 year old daughters. Who in turn are pregnant.

I think it’s just that they were far less emboldened to act on it back in the day. Today’s stats are the inevitable end result of decades of demoralisation through social media and those stupid fuckin sex and the city films.
Nothing new except it’s female teachers instead of males. Because of internet we hear about it more than decades ago. I was in high school 81-85 and I know of a few girls that hooked up with the coaches/PE teachers. One girl I know I’d be willing to bet she came on to him.
Understood, but 5 years ago I only heard about these cases very infrequently and considered them rare. It's now being reported way more frequently than I ever expected. Ask many people commented here, it looks like the result of multiple factors, but I still find it incredible
Welbutrin, I saw how it effects some women. It was prescribed to my then wife. Uncontrollable sex drive and all but the strongest inhibitions gone. And I do mean uncontrollable.

We didn't have this in the 80's. My teachers were in late 40's to 50's, stern, and made me learn stuff😭
