Watch for additional Merchan change in behavior and rulings that would indicate she was forced to sign a "deferred prosecution agreement". It would most likely manifest as a rather "by the book" set of actions by her with little deviation from actual LAW and precedent from now now (as if she was being closely supervised by a JAG or two).
Deferred prosecution agreements were the staple of the Guliani RICO playbook in taking down the NYC crime families. The way it roughly works is the person (usually mid/upper tier in pyramid) is indicted for a major crime (or set of crimes), it remains sealed, they are brought in to testify or discuss the matter (or legal options) as part of the investigation. They are asked to assist in the investigation to indict other players above and below. Indictments get stacked up on them until they agree and sign (usually with their own lawyer present). Perpetrator gets left in their position, but must adhere to the agreement and cooperate in the prosecution and indictment of others. If they break agreement or talk about it, indictment is unsealed and they get perp-walked publicly to embarass them, etc.
Later prosecution charges are adjusted down based on actual level of cooperation with plea deals offered to the most effective cooperating indictees. Don't settle for the Lieutenant when you are after the General.

I don't think deferred prosecutions were ever used against the mob in NYC or elsewhere.

Indicting low level members to flip them is not an example of a deferred prosecution agreement which is a different thing altogether. Plea bargains for cooperation are a different type of agreement

Could be called a different type of agreement for individuals indicted in personal capacity. It is used in RICO cases, but this may not be a RICO case, it may be straightup treason.
Note that the current US Gov’t is a Corporation (since Oct 15, 1933) domiciled in a territory foreign to the Republic called Washington D.C. (established in 1871).

Good read. Deep State appears to have issued orders to Merchan to "standown" on sentencing due to the countermoves that were in play. I suspect that the unsealing of 9.6K indictments and the takedown of the NY Chinese spy network in retaliation for the Sep 18 sentencing threat also got their attention.

Note that Merchan or NY associates were very likely in that latest sealed indictment batch (receipt of emoluments from a foreign power is cause for citizenship stripping), and she was probably forced to sign a "deferred prosecution agreement" [in this case the indictment remains sealed] as part of the deal (like Zuckerberg is suspected to have done to avoid life in prison for his crimes, including election interference).
Maybe they finally woke up and realized everything they attack Trump with backfires, so they’ll steal the election and drag him into court afterwards.

Some Deep State idiots further down in the pyramid are just now figuring out that all of their criminal activity has been recorded for at least the last 8 years and that they might just be one of the unprecedented 470,000 sealed indictments (presumably being done by "good twin DOJ" in conjunction with some of the State AGs who may be currently under the supervision of military JAGs).
