BREAKING STORY ,this is crazy ,1,000s of Hezbollah pagers all Exploded after message sent out
π Notable
this is shit straight out of a movie ,sorry dont have sauce just heard it on fox news
Sooo, can this happen with our smartphones?
Short answer, YES.
Middle answer, faraday bags.
Also they emit a lot of radiation so don't keep them near you, especially when sleeping.
Faraday bag yes, but if the smartphone already has a timer set internally, it will still burn up in the bag
Rabbit hole...or could the absence of receiving the message further ensure it will be in a hand when the problem occurs.
So many sensors in a phone, almost endless possibilities.
Good points
Well, the pagers got a trigger message...
π
"That, Detective, is the right question"
Not like this, no.
These pagers were either manufactured for or intercepted by IDF / mossad and modified specifically for this with added explosives and a special board to trigger these all at once while still maintaining regular functionality. (Think about it, you would need these thousands of pagers to be passed out and put into use and be functional and not just blow up the first time somebody turned it on and received a message. If the first few blew up the rest would get thrown away)
Your phone doesn't have c4 in it.
Could your phone be back door to make the battery overheat/catch fire? Almost certainly.
These pagers didn't Just catch fire... They exploded. Pagers usually use one AA or AAA battery That usually lasts for 1 to 3 months depending on usage.
Found a video of one exploding https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/30487383/hezbollah-fighters-injured-walkie-talkies-explode/
Very good explanation, thank you. I worry enough about the emf the damn things emit.
Why not? Or electric cars?
Yep, very true
Maybe the Samsung 7
or 9or whatever it was way back was a prototype for this. Remember they were exploding and catching on fire and banned from planes.Edit to add article. : https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/10/14/497999029/samsung-galaxy-note-7-banned-on-planes-including-in-checked-bags
"Malware" my ass, more likely an Israeli operation. It would be interesting to know how and from whom these devices were sourced. However it was done, it was very cleverly implemented.
Iβm guessing Mossad got into the supply chain somehow and added a chip w something like a stabilized PETN and a circuit board that would detonate the battery upon a certain text string. Hezbollah operates their own PTSN network in Lebanon that ISR somehow penetrated. I donβt believe the deflagration from a lithium battery that size is enough to create the injuries seen across multiple stories. Note: 1 story said they had received a shipment of new pagers recently.
Pagers typically use one removable AA or AAA battery with a 2 to 3 months battery life.
These were certainly intercepted and some type of explosive like c4 added along with special circuitry to maintain the regular pager functionality until a certain a signal/code was sent.
Accurate.
Good info.
Incredible security breach.
Crazy.
Know these guys will not trust their electronics. Imagine them giving you another pager?
"Trust me, Achmed, this one won't blow up!" Bwahahaaa...
Insert the Achmed Terrorist bit from Jeff Dunham π€£
u/#bahaha
Giving that them felt the devices heat up, they might have figured out how to do this without explosives.
Lithium batteries as bomb material?
So possibly this could be done by just screwing with the regular stuff in a pager and overheating the battery?
Sorry but no, these pagers would have used either one AA or AAA battery.
These pagers were likely intercepted and modified beforehand with explosives added inside and a special triggering mechanism to maintain regular functionality until a certain signal was sent to trigger them all simultaneously.
I think they were certainly intercepted and modified.
Definitely agree on that
it would just give you some serious localized 3rd and 4th degree burns but most likely won't kill you...... but the real question... people still use pagers?!
BEIRUTβPagers carried by hundreds of Hezbollah operatives unexpectedly exploded Tuesday, leaving many of them injured in an unprecedented event that struck across Lebanon.
The affected pagers were from a new shipment that the group received in recent days, people familiar with the matter said. A Hezbollah official said hundreds of fighters had such devices, speculating that malware may have caused the devices to heat up and explode. The official said some people felt the pagers heat up and disposed of them before they burst.
It couldnβt immediately be determined what caused the blasts, which were spread out across the country in several areas where Hezbollah has a heavy presence. The Israeli military didnβt immediately comment. The numbers of casualties were rising too quickly to count, a Hezbollah official said.
Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abiad said he needed more time to determine the total number of casualties but assessed that the number of emergency room admissions in southern Lebanon, a Hezbollah stronghold, was extremely high.
The incident comes amid growing tension along Lebanonβs border with Israel. Hezbollah began firing rockets into Israel soon after the Hamas-led Oct. 7 attacks on southern Israel that set off the war in Gaza, and the two have exchanged fire daily since then, driving tens of thousands of people out of towns on both sides of the border and leaving hundreds of Hezbollah operatives dead.

Good for Israel if they did it. I donβt care who dislikes it. The goat raping Jizzbollah deserve it. β°οΈβ°οΈβ°οΈβ°οΈβ°οΈβ°οΈ
Seeding what is essentially civilian infrastructure with untargetted booby traps is not the right way to do things.
Can you imagine if these people did to Israel what Israel does to them?

Summary Hezbollah calls it biggest security breach in war with Israel Iranian ambassador to Lebanon reportedly injured Lebanese Red Cross dispatches over 50 ambulances, 300 medics Injuries to limbs, face and eyes BEIRUT, Sept 17 (Reuters) - More than 1,000 people, including Hezbollah fighters and medics, were wounded on Tuesday when the pagers they use to communicate exploded across Lebanon, security sources told Reuters. A Hezbollah official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the detonation of the pagers was the "biggest security breach" the group had been subjected to in nearly a year of war with Israel. Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah have been engaged in cross-border warfare since the Gaza conflict erupted last October, the worst such escalation in years.
The Israeli military declined to comment on Reuters enquiries about the detonations. Iran's Mehr news agency said the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was injured by one of the blasts. Reuters could not immediately confirm the report. The pagers that detonated were the latest model brought in by Hezbollah in recent months, three security sources said. A Reuters journalist saw ambulances rushing through the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut, a Hezbollah stronghold, amid widespread panic. A security source said that devices were also exploding in the south of Lebanon.
At Mt. Lebanon hospital, a Reuters reporter saw motorcycles rushing to the emergency room, where people with their hands bloodied were screaming in pain. The head of the Nabatieh public hospital in the south of the country, Hassan Wazni, told Reuters that around 40 wounded people were being treated at his facility. The wounds included injuries to the face, eyes and limbs. The wave of explosions lasted around an hour after the initial detonations, which took place about 3:45 p.m. local time (1345 GMT). It was not immediately clear how the devices were detonated.
Makes me worry about my much larger phone battery...
Here's a video of one of them going off.

It seems a bit odd, sounds like the guy says "I'm hurt" after he falls. Would most be speaking english? Reminds me of the workers in some factory in the middle east, that I think was bombed during the start of the gulf war, wearing lab coats that had the words "Baby Milk Factory" on them.
The "phone strike" was used recently in the movie "Jackpot" starring John Cena on Netflix.
Predictive Programming.
3000 is the latest number from Amir Tsarfati. 200 critical and that number will grow. Iran's IRC are throwing away their phones and other devises. Total chaos in the Middle East. The 3000 that were given the pagers were the ranking members of Hezbollah. One of the injured was the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5m0XXTjTbgs
Them Israelis are sneaky motherfuckers β¦ could you imagine the meeting this came up? βLavi, these Iranian drones are successful what should we do? Lavi: βHold my Tubi 60β¦we are going to blow up their waistlines!.πππ Old school like 90βs!β
These assholes blow themselves up anyways. This way, noone else is killed.
Looks like a lot of Pro Hezbollah fans on here with all the down votes. This was a great way to eliminate and identify the leaders of Hezbollah. None of them will be fighting any time soon. Look for Israel to strike Hezbollah VERY SOON!
All I could think of is this old track from the '90s "Blowin up my pager" https://youtu.be/CfdYJvqnsnM?si=QYOYQ_pGAwSu6Wf8
lol
The movie is "Kingsman"
i think more like "Law Abiding Citizen" remember when the judge answers her phone ,KAPOOY
My first questionβ¦do people really still use pagers? For what purpose. The day I got my first cell phone I stopped with the pager. Are these people still using landlines to call and page each other? Isnβt Hezbolla, with millions in funding, able to afford better systems? Iβm missing something, I thought no one used pagers anymore.
The message.
BOOM!
Wonder if those with the devices that didn't explode will be seen as spies
bummer if they had them in their front pocket.......
Wouldn't bummer be the back kek
u/#kek
So good, it deserves a loud groan. Lol.
Why do they have pagers lol.
Low budget.
because they don't transmit a signal outwards and betray the position.
Untrackable?
Excellent.
