Stealing horses got you hanged in the West. And not necessarily by the law. How do owners feel about their animal? Take your dog and cat and triple it.
If a man was in the wilderness of the old west and someone stole his horse, the man had a high chance of dying. In such cases, horse theft was tantamount to homicide and treated severely.

I quite frequently have dreams with certain animals in them. That is one area where not enough research and studies have been done in my opinion. I mean we are essentially asleep a third of our lives, seems like more should be studied about dreams and what they can tell us about our subconscious. There are many spiritual connections and meanings regarding different animals in dreams.

Yes,many people consider the animals they're responsible for to be as important as children.
I feel that way about my dogs. it is not abnormal to form a bond as strong as family with your dogs, cats, horses, etc.......
I would absolutely use deadly force to protect my dogs just as i would any other member of my family if someone came onto my property or into my home with intent to harm or steal / kidnap them. You have the right to defend your property, just as you do your life. That is a founding principle of our Republic.

I empathize with your loss but if you had a pair, you would be out hunting with a rope and a gun. Hey, if the thieves are border jumpers then no one in officialdom knows they are here and where they are. Act accordingly.
This happened in 2023. But yes - a REAL problem. With untrackable border crossers milling around everywhere, who knows.
