You think it would help my acid issues? Because I just can't seem to find the right remedy to help, except taking regular antacid & nexium, and I can't take more than a week worth of nexium or my bowls aren't happy. Use to take prilosec but it stopped working and I heard it was not good, so I stopped taking it years ago. Sometimes when it's really bad (like lately) I also drink some baking soda water.
Stop with the baking soda water that makes it worse. Drink apple cider vinegar with mother before eating. Solved my heartburn and indigestion years ago
ACV is a wonder food. Provides immense benefits including digestion relief.
I have been off all my stomach med for over a month now using ACV.
Do you drink it straight or in a small amount of water? I've tried it before for like a week in mornings, but it didn't help. I even tried lemon water in the mornings and didn't help. My father has a really bad time with acid also, I think he even had some kind of surgery for it. I don't talk with him much so not sure what kind of surgery.
I drink a glass of water with about a tablespoon of unpasteurized apple cider vinegar in it at lunchtime each day. As we age, the stomach makes LESS acid. Acid is the chemical signal for the sphincter between the esophagus and stomach to close. So, for many, heartburn is not due to too much acid, but acid in the wrong place. Those drugs you've been taking block your acid producing cells, so the body just makes more of those cells. Without the drugs, you can have extra cells now producing acid. I am not sure if drinking ACV in water will help your situation, but it is worth trying.
I will give it another try.
Thanks for the great explanation
Wonder how many people thought you meant for them sit down with one of their parents and drink vinegar.
Qeq
To be honest, I’m really not sure. All I know is that (from a biological perspective) the milk is literally formulated to give a young calf the antibodies, bacteria, vitamins, and nutrition it needs to set itself up to thrive in this world. I also know that the people who are actively trying to destroy us want us to avoid raw milk at all costs. You’ll have to do your own research, but I expect that restoring your microbiome to a natural state would be extremely beneficial to you, regardless of how you do it.
They seem to be determined get rid of "farting cows" and raw milk. However, I'll bet the Rothchild family was given the benefit of eating and drinking healthy unprocessed foods while we peasants were forced to settle for damaged foods.
I remember something about "roach milk" or something disgusting like that. I'm sure that would give Bill Gates a boner, but it's not like he's gonna drink that shit.
Any suggestions for restoring the microbiome in other ways?
Kefir.
Someone gave me kefir culture and I used to make my own. Drank it once a week and it was great for digestion! Moving to the Sierras killed the culture tho.
As many fermented foods as you can. Kefir, kimchi, natto, etc.
probiotics.
Yeah go send $30 on a good probiotic it will do wonders for your digestion. Take some fiber every day too
Look for a book called "the great taste, no pain manuals." It basically shows you to separate carbs and proteins. You produce different chemicals to digest each and they counteract each other. The only problem, if you can call it that is that you digest things much faster and get hungry sooner. My old boss got on this protocol and cured himself of diverticulitis without the medication. You have to cut out dairy and soda, eventually you can add back some cheese if you like. But it made me feel so much better, lose weight and most importantly, no heartburn. It may take some time to heal if you have an erosion, just fyi.
Ketones ftw!
Pick up some charcoal capsules. They work great at absorbing acid. Saved my daughter all her childhood. She suffered a very touchy stomach. Also, crystalized ginger. It stops a stomach ache within seconds. You can buy it by the pound at nuts.com.
Eating wheat used to give me heartburn, which I discovered when I stopped eating wheat for a while then tried it again. Ultimately also had to stop eating all foods with gluten as well, which helped other issues I was having.
Yeah, when I stopped eating a lot of bread & coffee (toast for breakfast, sandwiches) I noticed my migraines went away, and so didn't need the meds for the headaches anymore.
