So they shot an ICBM.
What happened in random US military centers around the world as they tracked this missile wondering if it is a nuke about to hit Ukraine.
Must have been TENSE in those rooms as they waited the few minutes for the ICBM to detonate wondering if it is a nuke or not
Good point. The alert that there was an ICBM launch in Russia would have been within seconds of launch. The smell of shit in that room must have been overpowering, not knowing, did Putin just decide to nuke Ukraine.
Next time someone walks into that room and pulls out a chair to sit on will undoubtedly ask why every chair has a vertical conical-shaped area near the back of each seat. The pucker-factor had to be a 10...
"Russia fired an intercontinental missile...." Next paragraph--"if confirmed...."
How many people will read the first paragraph and miss this part?
Iβm pretty sure itβs been confirmed
Yes. Confirmed that it was NOT an ICBM. As the article stated.
My grievance is with the writing style. Sensational intro, followed by the fact that its not confirmed.
I assume back-channel communications were active. They would've conveyed what they were launching and what it was targeting, and that it was non-nuclear.....at least I'd like to think that's what they did.
It's a logical assumption.
The people who matter knew what was up, and what wasn't.
Riveting!
This is actual fat more dangerous than that. Upon detecting the launch of an ICBM, potentially a nuke, might trigger the doctrines where it is potentially considered an event that requires nuclear response.
Russia might have just exposed what the Nato nuclear doctrine is.
Better not be a nuke.
It would be very stupid for Russia to use a nuke at this point in the game, for using nukes at all is a serious taboo that would invite deadly diplomatic repercussions and backlash, even amongst BRICS nations.
It doesn't matter. The US has the capability of shooting down an ICBM in its launch phase. Source: Lt Col Oliver North

"Launch phase" meaning when it is just getting off the pad or when it's already moving at mach 20 ?
It can also miss.
And Olly doesn't have a sterling reputation (Iran Contra)
Don't forget him & McNoName siphoning small fortunes out of the DoD after that mess.
Wasn't that before Russia had the hypersonic missile technology?
I don't know about that.
If you believe that, Iβve got a bridge in the Mojave desert Iβd like to sell you
Whats the postal costs to Ireland?
