I did a little bit of digging on that and I could be wrong, but my understanding was that the Smith-Mundt Act, which forbade the U.S. Gov from propagandizing its citizens, was not repealed, but rather, *revised *to allow for non-governmental news sources to propagandize for them. In other words, government agencies could outsource their propaganda goals by contracting advertising/public relations companies. To me, this illustrated "Fake News" in a whole different light. But like I said, I only did a little bit of digging and as with any Bill or Act, I need to read it 2-3 times before I even begin to get the gist. So please do correct me if my understanding is incorrect.

Yeah, I was just talking to my mom about this last night. The only reason government would either have drones flying around, or allow drones to be flying around is for fear porn. Why do they want us afraid? So they can enact more laws to control us.
well the good news is that they have moved on from killing children to try and take away guns from good citizens.

Everything will be tied to Iran from now on because Israel has a hard on for war with them and wants us to join right in. First it was Iran tried to assassinate Trump, Iran tried to hack our election, now it is an Iranian mothership launching drones all over the northeast. The DS will try their best to have a war going before Trump is in office or to somehow get him pulled into a war soon after he is in in. This is false info being spread around. Nothing was repealed. There was the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act which allowed US Gov. Media to be shown domestically. This is news put out for the rest of the world to see from the US gov. This is now a legal way for people to get to this content domestically. This was fake news in 2013 and every year/month etc. its brought up since.

The law lets commercial broadcasters redistribute VOA content, which is meant to be foreign PROPAGANDA, to American citizens. The key is commercial broadcasters, not free US citizens.. and you have to ask why would the commercial broadcasters even want that?

no no... legal now since 2013 only :). The law does not allow for propaganda... it allows for gov. produced news meant for people abroad to be seen domestically. It does in no way allow for commercial broadcasters to distribute this content. It does still specifically include verbiage for the "Prohibition on Influencing Public Opinion" - still all part of the act. Probably best to read the whole thing. Its not some gotcha moment find here unfortunately.
