My gut feeling has been President Trump and Speaker Johnson are much more aligned on strategy than people realize. Just look at the difference in President Trump’s comments about Johnson versus Chip Roy.
Also, look at how frequently the two of them meet. President Trump doesn’t make a habit of frequently meeting with RINOS..
My gut is also telling me that many of the 38 Republicans who voted against the 116 page bill President Trump endorsed are going to struggle. Most of them say things that sound good, but they clearly aren’t on the same page with POTUS.
I think where they differ is almost irreconcilable. President Trump sees a path to solving our debt and deficit problems by drastically increasing revenue and responsibly reducing spending. Many of the Republicans who voted against the bill he endorsed are deeply entrenched in the belief that painful austerity measures are the only way.
If they can’t grasp his vision and support it, they’ll soon receive the Chip Roy treatment.
The boot Johnson movement is led by the death cults demon rats and amplified by reactionaries and shallow thinkers. Those who use discernment understand whats at play here.
People are too quick to judge by the outward appearance. The first CR bill was put out in the open for all the pork to be seen by the public and Schumer screaming for it to pass. After the backlash, the nearly 1600 page pork bill was reduced to 120 pages. It was all optics. I do believe we will see a REAL insurrection on Jan.6th by the Democrats in Congress as the Delegates refuse to vote for Trump. I believe we will see REAL insurrection trials in the near future. Kek
in Johnsons defence he is manuvering some rough waters..a very tight majority and a bunch of rinos.I think he is working with DJT and not every deal will be great. We need to keep the stink to a minimum. You cant trust him fully but cant throw the baby out with the bathwater either. Hang tough ferns and let this shit play out
I’m on the fence about Johnson, it is odd though that al,ost every major function I see Johnson taking selfies with Trump so they are physically close a lot
Does the House actually have to certify the vote, or merely state if they are contesting votes?
Without a Speaker, they clearly can not contest the vote, but that's not an issue in this case. But if they simply say nothing, do the electoral votes then get counted anyway?
Ultimately, it is the Vice President who certifies the vote. And with the rule changes that is now strictly a formality unless a proper challenge is brought. But a proper challenge could never be brought in this case.
So it seems to me Kamala would have no choice but to certify the electoral college vote, even if there was no Speaker of the House.
The constitution states that the vote must be certified before both houses under Article II, Section 1, Clause 3. This requires the Speaker to be present since it is official business. Here is the relevant portion:
The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for one Person to be President and one to be Vice President, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. And they shall make a List of all the Persons voted for, and of the Number of Votes for each; which List they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the Seat of the Government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate. The President of the Senate shall, in the Presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the Certificates, and the Votes shall then be counted.
Note that I changed the portion of the voting to reflect the 12th Amendment.
Remain calm. Johnson is on the team. Expect more fancy maneuvering. Democrats will keep pushing on doors that had the pull sign switched by Trump.
That's the funniest image!
There is a Far Side comic that could be stolen and turned into this as a meme.
“BUT HE DID THINGS.”
Absolutely.
Why does it have to be in this order, vote out Johnson, replace him, inaugurate Trump. Why can't it be, inaugurate Trump, vote out Johnson?
Do we still have the rule that allows a single Representative to call for a Motion to Vacate?
I was wondering the same thing. Just kick out the nerd later.

"It’s clear that Mike Johnson is working with President Trump and has his support.
Let it play out. "

Johnson helped play the Dems and rinos. At first I was pissed then I realized the bill was a Trojan horse and now I’m in awe!

I think the deals are a herding mechanism.
Johnson is part of the plan. He and Trump fucked the dems hard on the CR and trapped those idiots in their own lies.

Ooh. Keep him edgey and abrasive so that when its time he sails smoothly. Got it!
