Ask the Communist Democrat Insurance Commissioner why the insurance companies were allowed to cancel policies? Kickback perhaps??? The State is run by Communist scumbags who are more interested in importing 3rd world vagrants and butchering childrens’ genitalia than actually looking out for the people who pay the bills.
When the contract expires, both parties can decide whether to renew or not. Insurance companies calculate risk. When the risk is astronomical because your selected State & local Governments have failed to do their duty, then you are SOL!
What they know is that California has repeatedly made mistakes in managing their fire zones, so it makes sense that they would pull out in th beginning of a new year, b cause everyone knows just how dry California really is.

Yes! This is not the typical fire time of year! Winter is usually associated with minimal, if any, fires because of the rains.
Oct-Feb is when we have the dreaded Santa Ana winds, which is what spreads fires like… wildfire.
