Idiots. But people across California need to stop and think what would they grab in 10 minutes. Even if you are not near the fires, things can change rapidly. We prep and we are in Australia and we are in peak bushfire season. The rain has been constant since spring and that’s a blessing but a few days of dry winds and things can go to extreme in an hour. In our bushfire zones, they have installed roadside fire fighting stations in our leafy suburbs. They are maintained by the locals and they are a backup system until the Rural Fire Service arrive.
If you are in the fire zones, All important papers, including insurance, mortgage details, passports and bank books etc., medications, precious irreplaceable items, pet needs, including meds, food, fav. toy, change of clothes, footwear, photos, hats/scarves, water, health bars, etc. , should be placed in lidded containers near the front door now. Things can change so very quickly. 🙏🏼
Had a friend in Elsinore CA - a single mom with 3 kids. A fire started in the Cleveland National Forest just over the hill from where she lived. I told her to start gathering important stuff together in case she had to evacuate. She blew it off at first, but I wasn't going to take no for an answer. I had a van and drove it over to her house and started loading it with electronics, memorials, papers, stuff for the kids, etc. Her car only had room to transport her and her kids. Sure enough, the order came to evacuate because the fire was going over the ridge. They only give you a few minutes to get out. I already had my van loaded with her belongings so we were ready.
She was out of her house for several days. Luckily her house was spared. But the fire took out the homes across the street. She thanked me later after she realized how close she came to losing everything. Most people have no idea how fast these situations can develop and overtake you. Better to be ready and not have to evacuate than to be in a frantic rush at the last minute.
Bravo for being firm as you said, many have no idea how quick things can change. A Change of wind and it can be over. One thing in Australia after we had a lot of horrendous fires with many deaths, the greens weren’t game to walk down the street. They stopped back burning and clearing the forest (bush) floor. They don’t realise that by not clearing the floor (and trying to protect frogs, lizards etc) it is much more catastrophic on our kangaroos, koalas, wombats, parrots, and a huge amount of wildlife that become very vulnerable. We can lose generations of a wildlife in a matter of minutes.
Our firies (Rural) are loved by Aussies. They are fully trained and are volunteers. They live and volunteer in their community and if there is a sudden bush fire, they are called home to fight it. We also have warnings when they are backburning to let those in those areas know that there will be increased smoke so if you have asthma etc. you can prepare. During summer mostly we get warnings of fires, storms and flooding. Their equipment is maintained and the community demands that state governments (no more green experiments as people will never forget what they did to huge swathes of bush. make sure before fire season they have everything they need. I forget what they are called but in leafy suburbs they have portable fire fighting stations. This allows those designated (and trained) to use this stopgap until the firies arrive.
You guys are living it and we have been so blessed that for many years conditions have not been conducive. Now I feel sick remembering just what happens when our streets are full of the sounds of sirens. May God protect us all.

*Be prepared that you may need to abandon your vehicles. A good backpack with lots of compartments will hold lots.
🙏🏼 Thinking and praying for you. If you have pets, please put a secure harness on them - even cats - and make sure you have bottled water and bowl for them. Please stay safe.
Please stay safe, start getting your important papers and other important things packed up. If you don't have a friend or family to go to, start calling some hotels in safe areas and make arrangements to leave as soon as possible, so you aren't stuck in too much traffic getting out of the area.
Guess I didn't need to tell you what or how to do, lol. I have family over there, a nephew had to evacuate LA and is by himself with his dog, so he was a little freaked out until he got out of town, and have aunt, uncle and cousins up in the Palmdale area. One of my cousins left also.
I'm in Northern Nevada and we use this since it provides the most accurate info.
Like last fall when everyone in Washoe County had their phones go off with "EVACUATE NOW" (yes, they used all caps) Most of us went to the app to find info and discovered we were nowhere near the Evac zone.
Gee, Washoe County, thanks for making everyone poop their pants 😡
If DEWs are used it would be more difficult to tell, if they're using more conventional means like sleeper cells to be doing strike and fade tactics that alone is another story.
I'm sorry. stay safe.
Thanks I appreciate it, air quality is pretty bad everywhere you go.
Latest we can see is the West Hills area. Is that where you are?
If not, let us know where the new one is.
I got the alert in North Hollywood.

Remember to disobey anyone who tells you to “stay where you are” or “shelter in place”.
In Hawaii, the people who disobeyed were the ones who lived.
Yes, KTLA just announced around 4 pm.

I mean I am in Monterey Park currently, no way any fires can burn down the entire town.
In case you don't know about the WatchDuty app for fires.
https://app.watchduty.org/

Man wtf is this obviously intentional bullshit! https://files.catbox.moe/97jnc2.png

They have LA surrounded by a perfect triangle of fires. How does this happen naturally??
You your loved ones and your property are in my prayers fren.
Unsure if this correction applies to you or if you received it yet fren.

These notices were sent out by mistake to every single resident of L.A. county and then cancelled
I'm working in the Beverly center and I got this text too. Followed by a disregard text.
I'm from Florida. I haven't been up north yet. Word is sunset blvd is destroyed.
Do we have any overhead arial view photographs yet? I doubt these fires are being started with just gasoline and matches.
If DEWs are used it would be more difficult to tell, if they're using more conventional means like sleeper cells to be doing strike and fade tactics that alone is another story.
So far DEWs have been used in all locations that are prime real estate. I would fit the pattern.
