Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump)
We pay hundreds of Billions of Dollars to SUBSIDIZE Canada. Why? There is no reason. We don’t need anything they have. We have unlimited Energy, should make our own Cars, and have more Lumber than we can ever use. Without this massive subsidy, Canada cease...
"....Without this massive subsidy, Canada ceases to exist as a viable Country. Harsh but true! Therefore, Canada should become our Cherished 51st State. Much lower taxes, and far better military protection for the people of Canada — AND NO TARIFFS!"
Must be addressed.
Every time I'm hearing this discussion about Canada becoming the 51st state, I can't stop thinking about the name that the Babylon Bee gave it.... "GAY NORTH DAKOTA" KEK
Jokes aside, to our lovely Canadian frens here, hoping and praying this can become a reality!
Yes but Canadians need to wake TF up if they want to join us and get behind MAGA. The last thing we need in this country is a bunch of left leaning normies. We got plenty of those here still waiting on their long overdue wake up calls
Legit question? Are you a Q supporter? Saying “you people” makes you look like an outsider so I’m generally curious why you might be here…..No one on here is cheering on the destruction of your country. Don’t be delusional. We just no longer want to fund you nor have illegal invaders or fentanyl leaking into our country through the northern border. Take care of that and perhaps we will stop attacking your beloved Trudeau.
Beloved Trudeau among Canadians, is like saying beloved Nancy Pelosi among MAGA.
lol. I was replying to a Canadian shill trying to bash on GAW frens. He has since deleted his comment - or perhaps the mods got him..
Trump should look at the top products that Canada and Mexico export and offer zero interest loans and short term subsidies to American startups who can produce them within 12 months. Use an that money DOGE is saving.
I want Trudeau to puff out his chest and fight back against Trump. It would be so cool to see that pissing contest. Trump saunters up to the line, whips it out and pisses ten foot for five minutes. Trudeau sashays up to the line, pulls down his panties, squats, and then tinkles.
It's not his fight. Canada is a British colony. under Chinese management
Exactly. Trudeau is just the puppet they put out so the people won’t realize they are actually chinese. He is no more in charge of that country than Biden was in charge here. Puppets are 100% replaceable.
🤭😆
then wipes back to front
While metaphorically accurate, I actually mostly upvoted this just because it made me laugh really hard. Excellent use of language here.
Canada could also be self sufficient using our own resources if we do simple things like building our own refineries and processing our own timber.
Yep that's very true.
Our poor Canadian friends are on a roller coaster right now....
Last week chubbin up on potentially being the 51st state and trying to flex on America telling us how important they are... and how being a state wouldn't work. They needed more than that because they're God's gift to the USA...
This week everything is 25% higher and Turdo just made it even worse... which will probably trigger even higher tariffs -50%???- for Turdos back talk....
It's probably not a lot fun right now....
There's a lot of uncertainty. However, any Canadian that has taken the time to research Trump and his stances knows that he holds a great deal of respect for the Canadian people. One of his first forays into politics was taking over construction of NYC's Wollman rink with the help of a Canadian company, CIMCO. Over the years, Trump has always maintained that he has great respect for Canadians and Canada. His current battle is with Canada's so-called leadership, which has been rejected by the Canadian people for months now. We have been begging for an election!!
The contention between countries is almost ALWAYS between leaders, and not the people themselves. I reserve some contention for radicals that want us dead because of some religious bullshit...
I can respect Canadians who want to be independent. But ya gotta actually BE independent then. No more mooching off the U.S. like we're your more successful brother-in-law..
Then we can mutually trade as independent friendly allies.
This analogy hits home for me haha
Well if we have so much lumber, then please make the price come down. Shit is stupidly expensive right now.
No it isn’t. I build houses for a living. It was stupid high four years ago. We had lumber shoot 30k over budget just for one house. Nowadays it’s levels out plenty. Back in the day a normal 8’ 2x4 stud would go for around $3.30, todays it’s around $3.90. It’s not a huge difference. And stuff goes up gradually anyways over time. And then sheet goods. Four years sago 7/16 4x8 sheet of OSB went for like $28-$30 a sheet. Now it’s around $14. Back in the day, the best was $7-$8 a sheet. So again, it’s not terrible and prices go up over time. So no, lumber isn’t bad right now at all.
And speaking about Canadian lumber. We used to get some 1x12 16’ boards we use for “decking” or roof, no we don’t use cheap OSB crap for a roof. But it always came from Canada. It was the good stuff. But, these past few years, I haven’t seen any lumber from Canada. I mean nothing. Lots from red states down south. I see people saying this is gonna affect building, and it’s not true. In a way, I feel this was changed awhile back. Maybe just for this purpose. Timing is everything.
And it's going to remain so. They are going to use the (un)natural disasters of recent months to hijack the market. During the plandemic when lumber was out of sight, (if you could find it) it was stacked to the moon at the mills.
Unlimited energy?
Hidden truth or hyperbole?
We do need a certain cheese, Friulano, that my wife's relatives got us started on years and years ago. The company does not sell to America, it is a great "mild" cheese that has a good flavor. Goes with pasta and/or on sandwich's. I miss it when it is gone. But I can certainly do without it if it is one of the tariffed items. If not I can't get here anyway and certainly don't want to be traveling to Canada in the winter months.
Just make it yourself. Cheese isn't that hard. Just follow the recipe.
I will have to research the recipe, but you have a good idea. I will also speak to my wife about it.
I don't want to see Canada become the 51st state. They have 40 million people, and a large group are Liberals like we've never seen. They'd have more Reps than California. If Canada is integrated, it should remain broken up by provinces as they stand, otherwise Alberta and Sasketchewan will still have no voice.
I think that would be the next step.
I second this.
If you're a country that can't exist without being subsidized by another country you have no right to exist. Canada included.
I’m not even sure your are a country if you can’t stand on your own feet. Perhaps colony would be a more fitting name.
What about chyna subsiding our debt?
Translation, hard way, painful. Easy way not painful. Your choice.
Shoot, if we need some trees I got about 25 in my yard they can come and get. I bet most people have trees they would like to have removed.
I fucking LOVE this!
Uh oh…..trudeau just stepped in it….he will find out what it’s like to be on the wrong side of the boss!
I can't wait for the day when it's so cleaned up that it's actually possible to do a full audit of the federal government. I really would like to see the breakdown of our expenses
Go get 'em Mr. President!!
I would welcome Canada into our nation! It is a beautiful land, and our cultures are very similar. In return they would have access to sunnier climes and a big economy.
The only downside I see from this is the cost of produce will skyrocket. Strawberries will become unaffordable and maybe bananas. But, for a few hundred years Americans never knew what a banana was. No bid deal, we know how to substitute other fruits.
Do bananas come from Canada 🤔
No, but strawberries are produced in Mexico and banana are grown in southern Mexico. Not so much about importing veggies from Canada, but we do import a LOT of veggies from our southern neighbor. Just go to your local grocery store and see where the veggies were produced. Usually in Mexico or Central America. If those governments don't get on board with Trump's plan then that is one group of products that will go up in price for the average American consumer. Heck, just go to Walmart's seafood section and look at where it is imported from. The fish will begin to go up in price too if those countries are not careful. I don't think Trump is playing around and if these countries don't want to play ball then Americans could become pissed because they'll have to pay $1 for a pound of bananas instead of fifty cents a pound.
Bananas are the least of my concern. I eat maybe 5-10 per year. If they go from 19c a pop to 49c it will cost me an $2-3 bucks in my yearly budget. I’ll eat that collateral damage if it gets me my country back.
I agree with your sentiments 100% completely. I happen to work in the meat and produce departments of Walmart and I see how pissed folks get when the prices jump a few cents overnight. Imagine when it begins to hit 25%-50% and the companies have no recourse but to raise the prices because of the tariffs. In liberal towns those idiots will begin picketing Walmart for price gouging instead of being thankful that Trump is crushing the deep state. Tards will tard and blind people who love liberalism will never see true freedom. As an employee I just don't want to hear from the customers that the price increases are Trump's fault. It's Communism's fault because if Mexico and the rest of Latin America were capitalistic then we wouldn't have to enforce tariffs. I'll be glad when we take over America and get it back to where our founders wanted it.
We can grow bananas in Florida.
