The Framers drafted 3 co-equal branches of government, each with their own areas of responsibility.
They did not draft the U.S. Constitution for the Judicial Branch to run the Executive Branch. That would not be co-equal, that would be one branch running another.
In its plan for the federal judiciary, the Congress in 1789 divided the nation into thirteen judicial districts that served as the basic organizational units of the federal courts. In each district, a U.S. district court served as the federal trial court for admiralty and maritime cases as well as for some minor civil and criminal cases. Congress authorized the district judge to appoint a clerk in each district to assist in the administration of the district and circuit courts, and authorized the president to appoint in each district a marshal and federal prosecutor, then called a "district attorney."
I wrote some comments earlier on the βcoequalβ thing. Not intended to be a final statement, just some considerations on whether thatβs actually true, or what we are missing in the relationships. Worth thinking about, at any rate.
I suspect that they might be calling it coequal to run protection for being able to legislate from the bench, but as always, I could be a tard, and we should all do our own research.
Whether that thought is right or not, I do definitely KNOW thereβs at least one check and balance on power that they both did away with AND didnβt tell us about, and thatβs the State Governments electing senators.
Wow, this really illustrates the power of the Presidency. Over America's almost 250 years of existence, we have had weak presidents and strong presidents... those who failed to exercise their power or who were overwhelmed by a strong Congress, and those who pushed their power to the limit, like FDR.
I think what we're seeing in Trump is a resurgence of a strong Presidency and the usual suspects (Congress, lesser courts, and the massive bureaucracy) is desperately pushing back and trying to reclaim the power they had under Biden and previous presidents.
It will be fascinating to see how the fight plays out, but I'm betting on the Trump team.
And look, Office of Admin, and Management and Budget are under the Executive Branch! But the President canβt order audits per a few DemoLib judges?! Bunch of idiots. Their challenges should be quickly overruled.
You would be amazed at how many people on this very forum have no understand about how the Federal Government works. I've seen entire threads of people who think because something is passed in the House, it is now law.
Most importantly. The President has ALL of the Power of the Executive Branch. All others working in the Executive Branch work at the pleasure of the President.
The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows
This is great. And what it shows is that USAID is just one of dozens and dozens of government organizations, all of which are bloated and wasteful and corrupted.
This is why the Left is fighting the USAID cuts so vigorously. They are trying to firewall the next couple years to only this agency so that Musk and team can't do the same at ALL the agencies. But I promise this, Musk and Trump will not be denied. This is going to be a tumultuous but glorious few years.
It seems the Constitution is at the top of the hierarchy to me also.
All 3 below are co-equal branches of government. Checks and balances-you know-but it seems the checks and balances have been neglected by the people running the top 3.
Where are the Departments of Agriculture, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, the Interior, and Labor in the Constitution?
Thank you for the nice handy chart. Some of this stuff looks duplicative. Shouldn't the "independent" agencies have oversight by elected officials somewhere? I mean, who is paying them?
Can't we combine Agriculture, Interior, and Energy into one dept and streamline everything and focus on what matters? How about the vets under DOD? How Commerce and Labor together to figure out how to keep jobs here and raise wages and workers rights without wasting so much money?

Do you understand Federal Judges?
Stay on your branch, squirrels! πΏοΈ
The co-equal judiciary is the supreme court. All other inferior courts are created by Congress.
District Courts are under congressional authority???!!!!?

How busy the Supreme Court is going to be this year. ;)
Broad decisions can and will lighten that load.
Maybe military justice, too.
They were building tents for the illegals recently. The buildings are for somebody.

Huh. I donβt see the federal reserve on there. Please remind me where it is, constitutionally.
How odd.
It's under the Deep State branch.
I see the Federal Reserve System listed.
Dangit. I did overlook it, but the comment was also more of a joke/jab at it being an unconstitutional institution.
Double ruined. End the Fed, anyway.

I do understand, and you seem to be very correct.
Pretty simple!!
Now that would make a fine tattoo.
Where are the Departments of Agriculture, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, the Interior, and Labor in the Constitution?
I see a.lot of opportunity to trim in those executive branch controlled independent organizations and government corporations box!
