That's what I thought too. She seemed a little bit panicky and she was certainly under powered for what she was trying to do, but she had guts and did her job instead of blasting away like we see so many manly macho cops do.
Considering she’s pregnant, should have just gotten his license plate, call for backup, fire a few shots in the air to scare that driver away imho. Oh and film it for evidence. Edit: shoot at his tires instead and drive away with the biker
No doubt. Just because she was brave doesn't mean she wasn't stupid. She should be on desk duty or something if her pregnancy is an issue, which it must be or she wouldn't have mentioned it during the takedown.
I was gonna she was brave but extremely stupid too. She is trying to get handcuffs on a guy and she tells him to stop because she's pregnant. Way to put your unborn baby at risk by telling the suspect what to do to get away.
Shots in the air? NO. You never fire a "warning shot".
If you're pulling the trigger you're shooting center mass until the threat ends.
She had all the reasons in the world on her side to shoot that lunatic dead.
This would be a classic case of a justifiable shoot.
If that was me attacked in my car I would have been justified in shooting him dead. Intent to do bodily harm to all around him was already well established.
Desk Duty. Or one of the Sweetheart low effort positions some Departments have.
For example my Local County Department provides Nighttime Security to a few Businesses and municipal buildings locally in my area on a contract basis.
Not much goes on out here crime or otherwise. So the positions are usually given to the older people closing in on retirement. Or people on reduced duty due to pregnancy or some other medical situation. Who didn’t want desk duty.
As the extent of their job is to occasionally make rounds and check locks. And file a report at the end of the night.
Exactly! She was brave & did the best she could do to protect the innocent. Good for her. Her department should have given her better resources but IDK the circumstances. Maybe she was a meter maid coming back from a shift & just happened to run into this, etc
Agree, but she was brave though.

#1 job as a mother is to protect her unborn child, regardless of job title

There's brave and there's dumb, and often the two may overlap.
DEI sometimes hurts the "beneficiaries."
A pregnant cop should be on desk duty, if not put on leave.

Do police officers still go to elementary or middle schools and do that D.A.R.E. presentation like they used to? She'd be perfect for that.
There’s a certain level of Bravery that can only be achieved by being too stupid to realize the danger you were in till after the fact.
indeed. You can't reason with stupid. Backup and call for help, wait it out. Being pregnant means: you have another life to protect.

(Pun intended)
