TP supply is likely being disrupted intentionally. More to story? Note that TP sales and distribution in both US and Canada dominated by several corporations. Unconfirmed rumors of some tested TP has toxins in it (probably intentionally contaminated). More comprehensive testing needed of all brands.
Bidet method is cleaner, but kept intentionally expensive and typically out of Bigbox stores so only US elites can afford. Inline water filter needed if using municipal water supply.
Everything we use has toxins. Take a look at women’s feminine products, diapers (child & adult), household products, body products, skincare (especially makeup), candles, food, furniture, carpet and the list goes on. There’s good non toxic products available but you probably won’t find them in a local Walmart or grocery store. I’ve been down this rabbit hole over ten years. Beware of “greenwashing companies” their products might not be as bad as the popular ones but they still have toxins or ingredients that irritate the skin or could cause breathing problems. I seek products that are owned by small companies.
A dirty ass is a small price to pay for economic prosperity and dominance. But I think you can wipe away your shortage fears, I’m sure there will be a solution.
Maybe instead of sending wood chips to the UK so that they (we!) can claim that our largest formerly-fossil-fueled power station is now "net zero" you would have enough wood to make toilet paper? Just a thought.
Canada is loaded with the soft wood needed to make toilet paper. Once Canada ramps up production, then a profitable renewable staple product will be lost forever to American business and workers. It might be shitty for Canadians in the short term but in the long run it will be shittier for the current American companies that had this lucrative market share.
Not at all. Trump has already laid out the facts about wood. As he has shown the US doesn't need Canada's wood, we have more than enough of our own. Trump has stated we only buy wood from Canada as a favor to them. The tariffs won't hurt America. The only inflation will come from imported good which are only 15% of our economy. Foreign cars will cost Americans more, but those like Toyota, BMW, etc that are built here won't be inflated. That's why so many companies are moving here now that Trump has talked about tariffs.
• Hyundai Motor Group is announcing a significant investment of USD 21 billion in the United States from 2025 to 2028.
• Volvo Cars VOLCARb.ST may move production of some of its models to the U.S. depending on tariffs
• According to Reuters, Audi “plans to make its most important cars for the U.S. market in the region and will announce a specific site this year,” which is notable given the fact that the brand currently doesn’t build any vehicles in North America for the U.S. market. This news comes on the heels of a report from January indicating that Volkswagen was considering building both Audi and Porsche vehicles in North America as a result of these tariffs, too.
As a former accountant and businessman, I have to say that this entire process is too destabilizing to make sense for either side of the Border. I sincerely wish it was done with more finesse and respect for all parties impacted by this sudden demand for Tariffs. The damage to US goodwill is mind-blowing. Once these Industries collapse. In some cases it took Decades of organic growth to gather the market share. Now much is lost. I want both sides to prosper and enjoy a good quality of life.
Then maybe Canada needs to start inspecting all their shipping containers instead of one percent and allowing China to import Fentynol into their country so it can be brought here. I posted a thread on this several weeks back.
The op of this thread is worried about TP meanwhile this is going on in the background and if drugs are allowed into Canada unchecked, then who knows what else is coming in...

I think they have backed down on this issue and said that it was not as big as previously stated. This is not Canadians. This is Asian organized crime existing inside of Canada. 60% of Trucking into the US are owned by Indian Canadians. HunnyB Americans are suffering from the Tarif War as well as the Canadians. How quickly we've allowed ourselves to turn on each other. This is not how Christians handle a crisis. The media has been part of this..I was shocked how quickly REDDIT became this militant voice of hostility. We are being played on both sides of the border. These are sub REDDITs are 100% behind Carney. A leader who came out of nowhere.
You're probably right, but how do we know he didn't already try the other ways we are only seeing what he lets the world see. Canada and Mexico certainly aren't going to admit that other methods were proposed
I live in a border state and have worked retail for a lot of years has given me reasons to not like Canadians all that much at least not the ones I've dealt with. So the op's thread got under my skin a bit.
I will try better thank you.
The Deep State is imploding your economy. Along with the rest of the World. The only salvation is unity and a common sense understanding of who, how and why they are doing it. Then opposing it asap. I'm sorry you've had a bad experience with Canadians, can I ask what State you're in?
ND I'm not alone in my views I think it's because Canada is more just polite than actually nice. Before working retail I started listening to Winnipeg radio for a while only to realize that Canadians look down on Americans. Before that and the flood i thought Canadians were pretty cool.
my biggest issue with Canada was that they lied to Minot about how much water was going to be released from Lake Darli ng into the mouse river. I watched the news caster Perry Olson go from talking about Minots preparedness to almost falling apart on air he got handed the update while on air. It was devastating. I just sat there crying, I felt so bad for Minot.
Also we deal l with smoke and unbreathable air during a large part of the summer because the powers that be in Canada just let the wildfires burn unchecked , at least north of me. Idk about the rest of Canada We were told that it costs too to put them put. Thus has been going on for years, I feel bad for the people in Canada that have to put up with that as well.
We do to, that's why we want RECIPROCAL tariffs. Funny how you forget the meaning and usage of that word. Do some research yourself or look at the real research already done for you on the tariffs we pay Canada and every other country and how they have used us for decades. Big pharm has also used us as their guinea pigs for the poisons and crap they put only on our food. Slowly killing or making us sick. You people need to stop being total pansy asses and hating this country. Leave it and us alone
You're buying into the we are victims narrative. My heart and soul has gone into GAW. People who I respected for their open well informed minds & opinions, are suddenly displaying the opposite. Focus on the real Villains, the Deep State.
Don't worry about goodwill towards the U.S. There never was any. If there were these other countries wouldn't rip us off, and they would pitch in the full amount towards their own defense.
You actually believe that gas lighting? If the Deep State didn't exist, we wouldn't have to be concerned about War spending in the first place. You're repeating talking points fed to you recently. Blackrock Vanguard and the rest of the Globalists thank you for your support.
I get my gaslit points directly from President Trump about defense spending and about the hostility towards us from other countries that are supposed to be our pals. Sometimes I even use my own eyes and common sense.
As for talking points fed to me recently, and since you suppose I am doing this on behalf of Blackrock Vanguard and the Globalists, I invite you to gently go fuck yourself. I usually like your input but you are assuming facts not in evidence and using your assumptions instead of facts on this one (when it comes to me).
I, personally, don't agree with your statement. Do you believe President Trump to be too rough on Canada, or the Canadian Prime Minister too rough on America? Canada has been terriffing the US for a long time, now it is our turn, again, to put tarriffs on the goods Canada ships in.
Regarding USA lumber, we just do not have the forest land that Canada does, that is the truth. Pulp wood, especially Balsam fir, does grow quickly, but to say we would compete in production is off the mark, we just do not have the forests that they do. I don't know about you, but the enormous logging operations it would take to provide this lumber still would not be enough, not to mention the loss of what is left of our wilderness. It would be easy to wipe out those resources in 10 years, and the natural erosion of the land would be tragic. Better yet, grow hemp, use other modern ways of producing building materials, bricks, mortar, cement blocks, and do away with building with wood so that our forests can recover.
If any one hasn't seen how much brand name toilet paper costs, except maybe Scott's, and think about it-all we do is wipe butts with it-then flush it away. Covid really got a lot of people to hoard it. We need to get back to reasonable prices for everything plus toilet paper. In my opinion!
I'm afraid most people can't survive in difficult times. You can clean your butt without T.P just use your survival skills and imagination and you will get by and before you know it things will be back too normal.
We're cutting down our forests and planting pine forests right and left. Year round clear cutting and rumbling lumber yards here in the south, and the stink from pulp mills every few counties. Why on earth are we importing from Canada?
New Tariffs Threaten Toilet Paper Availability
Molka Deposit Photos
The U.S. could face a toilet paper shortage. President Donald Trump’s plan to raise tariffs on Canadian softwood lumber may unintentionally disrupt production of toilet paper, according to Bloomberg News.
The administration wants to increase duties on Canadian lumber to 27%, and possibly over 50% later. This could impact the supply of northern bleached softwood kraft pulp (NBSK), a key material used in toilet paper and paper towels.
Industry experts say higher import taxes may force some sawmills to close, reducing the amount of wood chips available to make pulp. With less pulp, manufacturers may have to temporarily shut down or cut production. Since the market is so tightly balanced, this could lead to shortages similar to those seen during the pandemic—and possibly higher prices.
Trump is set to announce new “reciprocal” tariffs on foreign goods on April 2. This is the same day delayed 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican products are expected to start. He has already added a 25% tariff on all imported cars, trucks, and auto parts—even those made by U.S. companies in Canada per Quartz.
Tariffs on Canadian softwood lumber, now at 14%, are expected to rise to nearly 27%. With the new 25% tariff on most Canadian goods, the total tax could reach about 52%. A possible national security review could push it even higher.

Replacing the 2 million tons of pulp the U.S. gets from Canada each year won’t be easy. This pulp makes up most of the U.S. supply, and many American paper mills are designed to use pulp from specific Canadian plants, making it hard to switch sources.
Bidets are the way
You said this yourself in another post on tarrifs
So why are you posting this? Don't you think there are plans in place?

Pennsylvania will pick up the slack. If there is a production decline, we just won’t send any to Canada. We make most or all of their toilet paper.

The goal of dividing us is working. Soon, there will be nothing but acrimony and hostility.
Then by all means stop doing it.

The true answer is to import Japanese toilets.
