The leaders of the CCP keep all the money. China has no consumer market to buy everything they make. It's all shutting down. The commies better settle with Trump, or the place will go up in flames.
I don't happen to believe that. Xi is a hard core Maoist and is trying to institute his own version of the Cultural Revolution. He has his own designs on world hegemony. In addition, it appears that Xi is actually losing much of his control and may be removed himself. He may have already lost control of the military and many of his hand picked placements are systematically being purged. Have you seen him lately? His hair has greyed almost overnight and he does not look well which may validate the rumors that he had a stroke last year. It is hard to know for sure because CCP leadership is a black box. Most China experts are in agreement however, that there is a major power struggle taking place within the CCP and that Xi's days may be numbered. The rest of the CCP will let him take the fall for the failing economy and geopolitical fallout. How much power he still has is up for debate.
His father was severely persecuted (tortured) by the CCP. When he came to power, he was the first President in China to establish his own security team taking control of his security away from the party apparatus. During his period, there have been massive corruption purges targeting the rank and file lower level CCP party controllers, like magistrates and regional officials. His power base is Beijing, whereas the power base for Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao is (was) in Shanghai. Jiang and Hu were responsible for establishing the persecution of Falun Gung, human organ harvesting and slave camps.
A few other things to consider. Trumps relationship with Xi has always appeared very similar to his relationship with Putin. He constantly says good things about Xi, and Putin in general, as opposed to what he says about globalist leaders. George Soros labelled Xi as the greatest threat to 'democracy', whereas Xi's propaganda referred to Soros as the Spawn of Satan.
Consider also what Trump has had to do in order to win power as Potus, and navigate the Deep State in America, bringing in change while cooperating with all sorts of garbage that we know are deep state. What would it look like in China if someone wanted to overthrow the corrupt CCP system? Could it be done in a few years, in a decade? What would that person have to do to obtain power, navigate the system in order to fundamentally change it?
I think that at a minimum, that person would have to look 100% like a CCP dictator, and act like a CCP dictator while pursuing his objectives. It would be 10 times worse and more difficult than what Trump has to deal with.
For these reasons, I give a certain amount of credit to the idea that in fact Trump, Putin and Xi are cooperating to destroy the worldwide globalist system while working to overcome the deep state structure within their own nations. Each nation being very different in culture, historical power structures, etc, each of these leaders have had to act in certain unique ways, but there are some very curious similarities between them all.
Ultimately, the inner workings of each of these nations is - as you say - a black box, so it is possibly impossible to actually know what Xi is doing, but I suppose time will tell.
You need to watch The China Show. Buildings, roads collapsing. EV's start on fire daily. Vegetables being washed in a toilet for restaurants. Potable water is becoming scarse. Constant floods because no drainage system. And the people are cruel. Seriously so.
Reports coming out of China are indicative of dire economic straits. Probably not quite as dramatic as some influencers are stating. But certainly dismal figures. Hence the Chinese blinking.
I heard it put rather amusingly “We can afford to be retarded longer than you can remain solvent.”
China is Asshoe, don't forget their part in the COVID-19 Charade. They need to be pushed into collapse, and even if the CCP is removed, they have scumbag business practices.
Because, well...the LEFT. They always spin, and cannot accept the reality before them. This is what worries me...and why I can't see Americans "uniting." It really bothers me.
Xi did not blink. This move is strategic on Xi's part to implement his plan to wage a trade war of attrition with the US. He and factions of the CCP are in this for the long haul and have no intentions of backing down. They cannot give in to Trump and still remain in power.
The CCP has decided to wage this war with a two face strategy - carrot and stick. This is how the CCP always operates. Conciliatory on one face, and wolf warrior on the other. These exemptions target the interests of high CCP officials and their families. For example, the exemption on soy beans affects the family business interests of his wife, Peng Liyuan. The same holds true with the exemption on ethane. There are powerful red families that are directly affected by the halt on these specific trade items. These selective exemptions benefit the elites and not the Chinese people. At the moment they are prepared to make the Chinese people eat tree bark in order to save face.
For us, this is just a trade war that Trump and his administration are implementing in order to obtain long overdue better and fair trade deals. For the CCP however, it is a war for their survival and they are willing to burn the country down if necessary. I hope Trump learned from his first go around with the CCP that they are not honest brokers. They understand that Trump is a deal maker. They will play that card if necessary. But, they never have, and never will, live up to any agreement they make. It is best to just rip the bandage off and cut ties with the CCP. The relationship with the CCP has cost the US far more than what little we have gained - cheap crap.
China is going to cooperate and then not cooperate as it suits her. They are following Maoist doctrine. Before it's finished China will look like they comply and then stop for a bit. Back and forth. They are settling in for the long haul as they don't care much about their people and they believe they can outlast the American people who in general have little stomach for protacted economic pain.
The question for me is. If we are at parity with tariffs with China, are we better off having high tariffs with China or no tariffs with China? Maybe the point is it doesn't matter. Both options are better off than what we had before.
China is not an honest broker. Any deal is a bad deal. Best to just bite the bullet and redirect supply chains somewhere else. The only way for that to happen is by doing what Trump has done - and it is happening fast.
I tend to agree. And those supply chains would be better off for the country if they were at home. But after doing some research, we have plenty to offer China and other countries in the form of our exports. Particularly food and energy, among others. There is lots of opportunity for us to prosper, even if it is with China. But yeah, I don't trust them. They have gone unchecked for far too long.
I agree with what you say. Our main problem with the CCP is fair trade. The CCP has been rigging the system for too long and has never been held to account. Until the US, and others, can get China to obey the rules, dealing with China is a losing proposition. However, I do not see the CCP changing. They play by a completely different set of rules - they win while everyone else loses. That is really what they mean by win win cooperation. They win twice.
Previous administrations sold out American workers in the name of globalization and lining the pockets of a few, all while looking the other way when our industrial capacity and the middle class were gutted. It will be a long road to build something better than what we currently have in order to regain some of those losses. It will not be the industry model of the post War years because technology has since moved on. Factories will be more automated and AI will profoundly change the landscape. But we must start to prepare for this future by preparing the US workforce to meet these technological changes. There is light at the end of that tunnel and I am glad to see some movement forward instead of trying maintain the status quo that was a dead end for American workers and the country. Trump has been the perfect choice for disrupting that status quo and moving the country towards a better place. It will be up to the rest of us to continue the process that he is starting.
Trump has done a decent job of stopping that. By eliminating de minimis and cracking down on trans shipping through other nations, most of China's routes to the US have been severed. That is why the EU and other nations are trying to stop the dumping in their own countries. They know it would be devastating to their own businesses. China really doesn't have any allies - at least none that matter. Even Russia and North Korea are throwing Xi under the bus. Trump's trade war has given these smaller nations a chance to stand up to the CCP that they could not do prior to the trade war. The former first lady of Singapore called Xi a mob boss - something that would have been unthinkable just months ago. Xi's hegemonic designs and bullying have come home to roost.
The leaders of the CCP keep all the money. China has no consumer market to buy everything they make. It's all shutting down. The commies better settle with Trump, or the place will go up in flames.
If Xi really is a secret ally, we could be seeing the collapse of the CCP right here
I think this is the plan yep.
I don't happen to believe that. Xi is a hard core Maoist and is trying to institute his own version of the Cultural Revolution. He has his own designs on world hegemony. Good plan. IMAHOPIN
Let him cook
I don't think its as much a case of Xi blinking as it is Xi winking.
Q140
Well, from your keyboard to God's ears, fren. Fuck Xi. Fuck China. It's "America First" time again.
You need to watch The China Show. Buildings, roads collapsing. EV's start on fire daily. Vegetables being washed in a toilet for restaurants. Potable water is becoming scarse. Constant floods because no drainage system. And the people are cruel. Seriously so.
They may be the worst people on earth but their consumer market is said to be very large. All I was saying.
Im not. I dont even have any confusiin about Xi, either. All Chinese in China including Xi are enemies to american people.
They do have that big ol domestic consumer market though. Its not an opinion or endorsement.
2nd biggest

Keep hearing this too.

Yes, yes and YES.
It will be fun to see how the left will spin this.
Left - Everything Trump is doing is illegal, we will battle everything in court. I watched 2 minutes of MSNBC.
Because, well...the LEFT. They always spin, and cannot accept the reality before them. This is what worries me...and why I can't see Americans "uniting." It really bothers me.

China might be preparing to dump trillions of dollars of export product on American shores.

China might be preparing to dump trillions of dollars of Treasuries... But that would be M.A.D.
