No, you don't have to do it manually. It does say that it may not work if you are using a mobile device, so if you are using your phone or a tablet, maybe that's why you are having issues.
I just hit the button on the right side, top of post that looks like an "A", if you hover over each symbol, it will tell you what it does when clicked. Click on "A" and it does the work for you, just scroll to bottom of post and it's there.
