Estate tax. Snuck into a healthcare bill. Containing an "individual mandate" that amounted to a TAX. Meaning it had to originate in the House. Not the Senate, where ACA originated.
The mandate was of course found unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.
Then why not the rest?
All of it. Because the entirety of the scheme hinged on the revenue generated by the individual mandate to work. Since the mandate is unconstitutional, therefore the entirety of the law is.

I certainly didn't know that. I did notice the Medicare tax went up, I thought that was the Feds raising the rate as more illegals would be/were coming to America, so the government would need more money to pay the benefits for them (or some other reason).

I bet if the penalty for voting on legislation that has not been read and discussed first was death, we would stop seeing these bills being passed covertly.
Regardless, this action, and the items passed, all are null and void since they were not enacted as per the original intent of the Constitution. We do not need a judge or court to declare this, we just need the owners of government to enforce it on government.
