When did this narrative get created that to arrest someone for crimes committed, all the evidence had to be "dropped"? What happened to calling a secret grand jury. Getting an indictment. And arresting the perpetrator? The evidence can all come out at trial. It does not have to be plastered across the news and social media for all to see. If anything, this hurts the case as evidence can be destroyed. Even if the prosecutor thinks they have all the evidence, there might be more that an investigation can turn up.
As a matter of fact, I can't think of a single time the evidence was released beforehand to create headlines and then the perpetrator was arrested. Maybe it's happened, but I can't think of a single time. Doing it this way just makes it all look like political theater. I'm not saying there won't be arrests, but if there isn't, it's just going to seriously piss people off even more than they are now. It will have the opposite effect of gathering political support.
