Guy on 4chan seems correct. Not a gunsmithfag. Have harvested white tails with common calibers. A 30-0six would have to be supressed and slowed way down to not push a man over and a mauser action/stock is not easily disassembled into a collection of small parts or is it reassemble with a scope and accurate on its first shot. I'm thinking the weapon in the woods minimally was not on that roof with that suspect.

You can take them apart, sure, but it’s for cleaning and maintenance, and not so you can quickly conceal it in a backpack. Bolt actions don’t work like that, that I’m aware of.
Looking at that model, even broken down it’d be pushing 2.5-3 feet long. Might be worth going by a good gun shop to ask about that specific model, but if they’re claiming it was broken down for transport, especially by some suburban kid, and that the scope was mounted like that, not buying it.

You can get breakdown bolt actions. But they are specialty rifles. Its not something really common. The problem is achieving repeatable accuracy with such a rife. Which means a design made for that purpose and very high cost.
When we get into the realm of specialty high cost bolt action rifles, that means fewer numbers of them exist.
With fewer numbers of them existing, I would believe tracking that small amount and limited access would be easier.
Not only that, but it would mean someone with money was involved, and that person doesn’t seem to have been the father.

Force delivered on target is highly dependent on where the target is hit. If he were hit in center solid mass the reaction would have been more what you describe - knocked over. This round, seemingly, only went through a narrow portion of tissue and unfortunately severed vital arteries. Imagine shooting a tin can and it flails wildly while if you shoot a piece of paper hanging it is pierced but hardly reacts.
What do you think of his shirt movement as seen in the videos taken from in front of him? It seems like he was hit on a body armor plate and his shirt displays a shock wave. I am not convinced it ricocheted up into his neck as opposed to perhaps a second shooter from his right piercing his neck. I do think it's very hard to believe that the pictured mauser was used on the roof.
Also, if it were a 30-0six that hit his neck, where did it land because that bullet would have gotten redirected only slightly and for sure whacked something else. A human neck is not going to stop that caliber at 200 yards. Also, body armor usually mushrooms and drops a round unless he was wearing a cast iron skillet and it hit the sidewall then went up into his head... the official story is lousy and belittling.
From the sideways video it appeared that the round hit the upper edge of his body armor and then you had fragmentation going into his neck.
Steel plate body armor does that.

I’m not a Gunfag but know one who isn’t online. He says that 55 grain accelerator soft point bullet would shoot from that rifle and wouldn’t shoot a head off. Probably why they used that particular rifle. He says they’re so old and people can’t get them anymore, people probably forgot they exist.
Edit to add; he says they discontinued them due poor accuracy so maybe it’s not the right bullet used either
In the early 2000s those things were going for 100-200 dollars online from Russian surplus outlets. You could buy crates of them in bulk for better deals.
i've never seen/heard of a 55grain .30-06 .
It discontinued in 2010. Apparently it’s a bullet that can’t be traced back to a specific rifle. Another reason it could’ve been used

An AP 30-06 could penetrate almost an inch thick titanium plate which he clearly was not wearing anything like that.
30-06 AP rounds 100% would not pierce one inch thick titanium. 50 bmg is defeated by one inch thick titanium.
Well, one an AP 50bmg will 100% pierce an inch and two, I said almost an inch meaning just under. A lvl 4 body armor would be needed to have a good chance to stop it and he was not wearing a lvl 4 plate.

A sub sonic round is a good point. It would have a lot less muzzle velocity but the impact power would still be very high. Based on the videos I have seen the sound does not sound suppressed to me for being 200 yards away but it is possible that it was. Just very hard to tell without clean audio. Building echos and crowd noises dont make it any easier.
If it was subsonic the penetration would be less true but the impact would still have tremendous force. If he was wearing something extremely advanced from normal applications (Military, Police, Private etc) then none of this analysis means much from anyone to be honest. Its just very rare for someone to wear a plate without supporting torso Kevlar. Something is definitely odd about it.

And rifles that are not designed as "takedown" rifles will badly lose their zero upon being reassembled. Though the rifle could have been "zeroed" and then planted, then broken down after assassination. But if the story is he reassembled that kind of rifle on the roof and then took it down again to run and then reassembled before ditching it then I think we can categorize that as a known lie. What I see in the assassination video is a bullet hitting high on the chest lifting Charlies shirt and the bullet ricocheting off his bullet proof vest and penetrating into his neck.
The video of the shooter jumping off the roof shows something like a rifle in some frames and then as he is limping off, I don't see a rifle at all.
It makes no sense at all for the shooter to spend the time disassembling the rifle only to discard it in the trees East of the buildings. Logically the rifle should have been left at the scene, wiped clean, especially with no 'messages' left on it, if the perp really wanted to get away.
