I refer to this as the last year of the criminal resident's term. Prices won't come down significantly until gas comes down significantly. Gas was $1.87 in Tennessee when I moved here in 2018 and I filled up my tank today for $2.55/gallon. It takes a lot longer to turn the energy back on (i.e. pipelines, drilling etc) than to shut it down. The damage Biden did to this country is absolutely incalculable.
Where I live, this year is way worse than last year in terms of food and fuel prices. everything sjyrocketed this year, worse than ever, and now Kirk's dead.. where is the winning? Oh, but Kimmel gets his job back.
In WA, gas prices tried to come down so, the local government tacked more taxes on it as well, upped the price to delivering it to where it needs to go, and to process it.. and and.. so yeah, not come down here and things are going UP instead. While Base prices may be down.. WA gov making sure to keep everything up by taking the money instead for their Green scam. Property taxes as well way UP forcing retirees out of family owned estates when they budgeted for 3k taxes and suddenly get notices of taxes nearly three times more than that.. Reminds me of what happened before but, this time it is FULLY the WA government at play, not a national thing.
I see that the federal government is suing Oregon to get access to the voter roles. The secretary of state is fighting at saying it is a privacy issue which we all know is a bunch of bull shit. The feds will win in the long run. I just paid $4.19 a gallon for gas the other day. Mail-in voting is corrupt.
On a good note, I did notice our LOCAL or even USA stuff being a bit cheaper than other options on several items xept for Tillamook dairy products(oregon based), they were a bit higher for some reason (often they are cheaper than other dairy) I still bought Tillamook though, I love their sourcream/butter and cheese products, heh. But, Lucerne (sourced from WA dairy farms) was cheaper than Darigold this past week for me. I have been trying to semi keep an eye out for local vrs not for a couple of shopping trips now. I am sure they are loading them WA dairy cattle up with who knows what though.. cough. Loose if we do, loose if we dont.. I suppose.
I only buy Tillamook for cheese, sour cream and cream cheese. The quality is just so much better than store brand for how little the difference in price is.
Not much has changed in my area of Tennessee. But I have put myself in a position that helps with food. Produce from my garden helps tremendously, and purchasing a whole steer every other year for my family if a life saver. My costs for a whole steer is approximately 3K. It has been steady for 5 years, no increase and the meat is clean. No shots, just grass fed. I end up buying flour, salt and sugar. Maybe some paper products when needed. My wife makes soap, shampoo, lotion, mouthwash, laundry detergent and the like. All easy simple recipes, and clean. What kills us is Utility bills, they are rising fast. TVA keeps adding 40.00 every other month and will not tell us why. Summer Bills have gone from 150 a month to 300. That is double for utilities. We burn wood during the winter so we have some control. Most of the times our bills are 100.00 in the winter.
Another killer is taxes on the house. It has been paid off for 25 years and we paid 800.00 yearly for most of our life. It began to rise during Covid, 2019. It is now 1462.00. That is almost double. We are on a fixed income and there is nothing we can do about those bills. Trump must eliminate those costs.
Our garden didn't do well this year due to drought and boy did that hurt us. We usually can our produce to last us for a year before we can again. It cost me 100.00 to purchase tomatoes from the Amish and can 20 quart jars. We have very few frozen vegetables left.
It cost me 142.00 for one weeks vegetables from Walmart. None of it was local or from the US. Oranges from Brazil, Garlic from China, lettuce from Mexico. None of it had any taste or bad taste. What in the hell is happening? No one can live on this garbage or prices.
Trump has only been in office for 8 months, I believe him when he says things will get better, but it may take a year. Just hang on. Good times ahead. He is fighting a very large Leviathan.
Not much has changed as far as the household, daily prices. Lumber has came down, but was going down as Trump was going into office. I don’t buy ethanol gas, so I’m around $3.45 a gallon.
My gas station has a ethanol and non ethanol option. I know all stations don’t have this, esp in the interstates and what not. If I had no option I’d run some Gumout (Tuneup) version. Like once a month or so. Depends how often you fill up.
In Vermont there has always been an option at the smaller privately owned general stores, chainsaws, mowers, tractors, etc do not run on ethanol. I use it too, better mileage and less engine trouble.
A number of reasons but one not to overlook is the idea of tolerance. If people 'get used' to paying X amount for something, and the company can continue to sell it for that price, even if the economy overall is not great, they very well might do so and pocket the difference. Some people /. companies are just greedy or evil or both.
I connected his bilateral meeting to this post, as he mentions grocery prices coming down. I know gas prices are fluctuating in Maryland from $2.86 to $3.19 per gallon. I know states tax gasoline. I am not sure what is going on with insurance prices-I get nothing more-but the price has gone up extremely high, and I don't know why. Does anyone here know? I have called my insurance agent and they keep taking things away (like lessening my coverage, charging me less but the coverage is much worse) from the insurance policy but the price goes down a little!.
My daughter is in the middle of an insurance fraud issue.
She lives in a capital city and her hookup to sewer was recently redone done with pvc instead of typical cast iron piping. She bought this house about 4 years ago. I thought it was a flip house immediately when I saw it. But she is almost 30 and I use my filter. A couple years ago not knowing about the PVC she had a backup. She was told it was roots from a bush in her front yard. They ground out the roots and moved on. In preparation for this happening again, when she changed her insurance to State Farm her salesman sold her a policy that covered this problem up to $10k.
So time moves on and sure enough it happens again. This time the plumber told her it was a pvc pipe and that the pipe was breaking down. The plan was to dig it all up, sidewalk included and replace the pvc from the house to the road.
She calls and the insurance company says that once a pipe is 50 years old they don’t cover anything over $2,500. She knows pvc isn’t 50years old so she calls the township about permits that have been pulled. None. She calls the water dept, electric suppliers cable and internet providers. Nothing.
So she is on the hook for (the lowest bid) of $4,600. However, that doesn’t cover to the road, just to the sidewalk. I say it’s insurance fraud and have encouraged her to contact her congress man.
She did what we are all told. What she was supposed to do. She paid the first time and got the right level of insurance to protect her. Now they wasn’t to screw her. I’m mad. State Farm collected that payment for 2-3 years. She paid extra for the coverage because she didn’t have it the first time and she had to pay to roto router the roots out of the pipe. Common sense, but she still does get protection. Insurance is a Ponzi scheme.
I have more personal experience where AAA tried to disallow a claim when my house flooded and they said they only cover for water coming in from outside.
Sad news. I hope your daughter makes out. Insurance and the costs are terrible. They budget enormous amounts for advertisement and we pay the freight- no solace, just thought I'd mention it.
I think.its the fact that the dollar is collapsed and the economy hasnt figured it out. It used to cost 6 bucks for an ounce of silver. The dollar is so trashed it now take almost 45 bucks.

It is certainly showing through, loud and clear (Biden's damage).

Not dooming, just observation in my neighborhood
Same I am getting gutted like a fish just trying to live. We need tax cuts and DOGE refunds
💯
I do understand. We can not keep our frustration bottled up.
Thanks for understanding Fren..
Not a problem at all, fren.

Ditto in Oregon
lol there is really no difference between living in WA, OR, or CA. All the same mail in blue shit politics.
Dude I paid $5.50 for a gallon of Darigold Whole Milk. I hate our government and the idiots that don’t see mail in voting is the root problem.

Yup, try the unsalted butter, it is my favorite, all I use now.
That does seem to be the case in Maryland, also. A statewide thing.
Food costs have continued to rise for us. Gas has been steady at 3.19 a gallon at the gas station nearby

In Maryland they put ethanol in the gas seasonally. So, what we pay does fluctuate-I think considerably.

I believe most companies are, and will continue to be, greedy. But the people need some relief, somewhere somehow.
Agreed. Get your legislatures to write laws against usury.
That would be great, but in Maryland (like other Blue states) the legislature is also Blue, so it will be tough.
Not great. I hope they get better. California must get their tax money- they can't run government without it.
From the way I see it it’s gonna take a long time to do the damage caused by, Biden in the so-called criminal organization…
President Trump inherited one big fucking mess. ⛈️
Yes he did.
Yes he did.

She shouldnt have to pay for anything that is before the meter. All the plumbing after the meter is typically what the homeowner is responsible for.
Sad news. I hope your daughter makes out. Insurance and the costs are terrible. They budget enormous amounts for advertisement and we pay the freight- no solace, just thought I'd mention it.
Thank you. I think if we knew all the crap pulled by these companies we would revolt. Just my opinion but I feel it just another tax.
Could very well be just another tax. Whatever is going on, it needs to stop soon (at least I think so).
I think.its the fact that the dollar is collapsed and the economy hasnt figured it out. It used to cost 6 bucks for an ounce of silver. The dollar is so trashed it now take almost 45 bucks.
Very well could be.
Shut the fuck up and trust the plan. 🤣
