My daughter lives in Florida and got an email from one of the kids public schools (elementary) that they may close the school for 2 weeks if the government shutdown continues much longer. Said they’d give the parents a weeks heads up before closing school.
Has anyone else been notified by the schools?
If public schools are closing because of no federal money flowing into their coffers I'd be at the next school board meeting wanting a very detailed explanation of WHERE IN THE #$@% DID MY REAL PROPERTY TAXES GO!!!!! Why am I being charges huge amounts of property taxes so little Sally and Johnny can get zero education and plenty of indoctrination?
While I pay 100% of my own kids education... and some of everyone else's or they will steal my house.
Well said!!!
NOT ONLY WELL SAID BUT ACTUALLY TO THE POINT OF THE SPEAR!!!!!!...These damn school boards need to realize that ONCE the UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS LEAVE...THERE is going to be a lot of finger-pointing as to where THE SCHOOL BUDGETS ARE GOING!!!!!
OOOOOH MYYYYYY...TO BE A FLY ON THE WALL WHEN THAT HAPPENS!!!!!!!
Yup ;)
I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with the schools not getting their Fedbux for free breakfasts and lunches for kids in the low-income programs.
If it's for real, that is.
How many Liberal Dims are in the Teacher Unions? 🤔😖
A lot of Schools and School Districts have been mismanaged for decades. I’d imagine an inordinate amount are at the very least privately reliant on Federal funding to remain solvent and paying staff salaries
Tell her to check the full email ... sounds like a spam thing to me.
WTF are your property taxes paying for if not schools?
Here in Illinois we have no idea. Same goes for the other 5 dozen taxes they created.
I wish schools would close. Kids do not need the grooming/indoctrination
That's the best thing to happen to those children. Considering all the woke crap these kids are being indoctrinated with, the schools should close permanently. Lots of the best teachers have left the system. Some have started home school pods where they teach six to ten kids every other day in classes that span 1st to 3rd grade and another 4th-6th. Off days kids take art, music, dance classes or field trips to museums, historical sites, places of geological interest, etc. Working parents should do some deep dives into home school pods run by licensed teachers. No woke, no BS, lots of 1on1 instruction. They will be so far ahead of the public school kids that it won't even be close. Does it cost? Yes, but it's not much more than private daycare, but so much better learning wise than public schools.
Democrats trying to scare people.
no mo gubmint money?
No notice here (KS). I have kids in grade school.
No I work in a s school
It would be funny if the kids had AI write the letter to give them a vacation
